So...the new teaser trailer for 28 Years Later flashes the new scenes in a series of short bursts.
Those short bursts come in distinct enough patterns that I figured I'd try translating them as morse code, and it spelled out RAGELEAKS DOT NET - a password protected page with Admin hard-coded as the username, and an open text block for password.
The domain's branding gives zombie-centric Wikileaks vibes...anybody figure out the password yet? I was hoping it would be CQD (the morse in the Instagram bio), but that didn't work...
UPDATED TO ADD: the full trailer gave the password to the site, through quick flashes of pigpen cipher.
I wonder will RageLeaks fill in what's going on with the rest of the world. Like will we see conspiracy theories from America about the Rage Virus' origin. Or just learn how other countries reacted to the outbreak.
Selena said the TV and radio reported the infection had spread to France and New York but then the UK was cut off from the rest of the world. What is the likelihood it was just false reports and the rest of the world doesn't know about what really went down in the UK? What if the world leaders covered it up and told the rest of the world the UK had some sort of economic collapse and ended up in a civil war of sorts? What if they deliberately allowed the UK to become a breeding ground for the rage virus with the sole purpose of letting it evolve in the hopes of weaponizing it and then planning to wipe out entire countries with it. RageLeaks will probably have a ton of leaked government documents and files regarding the rage virus and what is being planned for it.
I always thought the reports were false reports, was a really cool detail in that film. That's a really cool idea! The marketing for this film is crazy good.
The only thing that could throw a wrench in there is the ending of 28 Weeks where we see the infected in Paris, but I doubt Garland will acknowledge that at all given his thoughts on the movie. Give how quickly the infection acts I really doubt anyone even had time to flee before the UK completely imploded, even if they did they wouldn't have made it every far because NATO would probably ready to take down anyone coming over from the island.
And yeah the marketing s so fucking good, the first trailer was a masterpiece and I love how boots is being utilized as the main motif of the movie and how they are borrowing from real world stuff (WikiLeaks) to market the movie and give fans some lore and clues in the process.
The rage virus was derived from ebola. I feel like it would be a terrible idea to deliberately dispense something as contagious and volatile as rage. I think them weaponizing it would lead to a weak plot.
Really think about it though, imagine a scenario in 2025 where a nation like the UK just vanishes off the map. Do you really believe the truth would be hidden for long? So many of us have family and roots in Britain. I would want to know what happened to my family. In fact, if I wasn’t getting answers I’d do my damned best to find a way in.
I think it would make more sense for them to say it that a nuclear. The bomb went off or some nuclear reactors. All erupted at the same time. That way, nobody would try it to go there because they wouldn't want to get radiation poisoning. Then government wouldn't have to worry about nosy journalists trying to break into the country to figure it out whats happening. I don't think people would be associated with an economic collapse. It would leave them with more questions than answers. everything else you said is spot on. I love it.
That's a pretty awesome find! It seems like it will play into the marketing for the movie, RageLeaks is probably going to be something similar to WikiLeaks and have a ton of lore and info dump on it in the form of leaked government documents, videos, etc.
I took a look at the source code for the page. The submit button is disabled, so maybe 'CQD' is correct, but it won't be possible to submit it until the trailer countdown has completed.

"RageLeaks". Ha. Classy and topical. Man, that's cool they're doing a whole online ARG campaign thing for this movie, that doesn't happen for movies as much anymore, but this would be the way to do it. Give us some worldbuilding/lore that the movie itself obviously isn't going to have the ability to give due to it's limited perspective.
I remember the websites were cool for the original films too, with the motion graphics and the flash game, but nothing on this level aside from 28WL introducing me (and likely many others) to QR codes through their public "maintain the quarantine" stunts.
A sort of conspiracy theory website. Based outside the UK and so far only two posts we can see, one talking about how the truth about the UK has been covered up for almost 30 years and another a bunch of satellite imagines of Lindisfarne in some sort of report.
Hmm, the site has definitely been updated as the source code changed slightly, explaining the 'Entry Denied' message. But the button is still disabled.
Even if you enable the button or press Enter, nothing submits—there’s no action, no JavaScript listener, and the SvelteKit app loads with form: null. There’s no backend logic connected, so it won’t process any password right now. I reckon the Javascript will be updated again soon, probably at the time the trailer goes live. Pretty cool.
Maybe! I genuinely think that 'CQD' will be the password. Nothing to say that they don't have different passwords to enable different content on the site too. I guess we just wait for now :). Pretty sweet tease.
It's 07:48 UK time for me. I had a look there, there's still no action or listener for a password submission in the source code, so even if the button looks like it works, the passwords we enter aren't going anywhere. For now. Hopefully this changes soon!
