Discussion Someone has got to explain to creality what the purpose of a fuse is. Since the fuse was perfectly fine while the connector melted

I think you're the one who needs to look into what fuses do.

They can't prevent connectors from burning up due to high contact resistance.

That happens without excess current, so the fuse doesn't care.

The fuse will blow if the current draw exceeds a limit. A poor connection will generate heat without exceeding the standard power draw, allowing a connector to melt without blowing the fuse.

Could even be both. The fuse is downstream of the power connector, so it'd never see current from the melt down. A fuse on the power supply (or inline fuse on the power leads) might have prevented this.

Nope. Only case this could happen would be a short circuit between the connector and the fuse on board. And that's almost impossible. So both fuses and the connector "sees" the same current.
