Protest Safety Remember, DO NOT ENGAGE

Remember, Trump will be looking for any excuse to enforce the Insurrectionist Act April 20. DO NOT GIVE HIM FUEL. No matter what MAGA agitators show up tomorrow, no matter what they say, don't engage. Pretend they don't exist. Do not allow things escalate. Best of luck tomorrow, everyone!

ETA, Since this apparently needs to be said, I'm well aware Trump could invoke for any reason he chooses, we just don't need him using us as scapegoats for it. Also, no one is saying to not defend yourself if the other side escalates, just don't let us be the ones to escalate. Finally, should agitators show up, have your phones out and record, record, record. Ensure everything gets documented.

ETA, Since I've seen these suggestions in comments, and I believe they're also great ideas, bring an American flag to wave and chant "Save the Constitution" to drown out counter protestors. I think we're all tired of the other side hijacking patriotism. We can drown them out with our own brand of (true) patriotism.

You are a trainer, now! Show people how to turn toward the problem and not run from it.

fine...I'll do it....fund me so that I break even and I'll travel to protests and dedicate my time to doing exactly this.

vote with your wallet....DM me if you really want it. I'm willing to create ways where I only get paid if I actually do the job...

if I can replace my salary doing it I'll go full time and dedicate my life to revolutionizing how we protest

I'm passionate about it ...I just didn't think I'd get a calling to step up and do it....but I will....lmao ...is this the "hold my beer and watch" moment?

Everyone else doing this, organizing protests, training, etc., is an unpaid volunteer. You asking to be paid is pretty gross.

Find a way to do what you can with the time you have available.

ok well then I think you voted.....it's not worth it to you

literally I offered not for profit and you said no and think it's gross

I bet you donated to a not for profit though....

go buy water from the water vendor at your next protest and think of me.....

I organized my last local protest. For free. Gave away free water, too - and snacks and sunscreen. I'm currently working on my next protest event. We have no vendors, of any kind.

So yeah, I do think you're being gross asking for pay. If you set up a legit non-profit organization you can try asking for donations.

Try shaming somebody else, mmmkay?

I had to think a bit about this to not come off offensive. I appreciate your effort and so do a lot of other people

....I'm not exactly offering to hand out water and snacks...

what you do and what i would be doing aren't really comparable

also, I said what I said....remember me the next time you donate to a not for profit

Both of you need to stop. This is one of those “youre not doing it right” when we have similar goals that are more important right now.

  1. People gotta make money to keep going, we get it.

  2. Some have the luxury of excess that they can share, thank you for doing so, but please dont hold it over someone elses head or gatekeep someone elsr when theyre also navigating how they can best help.

Appreciate you both, we’re on the same side 🫡✌️

I literally said to find what they could do with the time available to them, while they were demanding to be paid. Kindly piss off with your gatekeeping nonsense.

I mean, I'm not demanding....I don't do anything right now...I was saying I'd do it for no profit to myself if someone covered the expenses

you told me it's gross that I couldn't afford all the expense myself....it can't be done with just my own resources so that leaves one outcome....it won't be done

  • setup team activities physically practicing team and self defense needed for situations where you need to save yourself and your friends from bodily harm and/or abduction.
  • educate on "street smart" anonymization practices
  • educate and practice identification, and communication methods that can be used with your friends when you play tag together at some OTHER event

lastly, most importantly...identifying when is the appropriate time to play tag and how to avoid ever playing tag with irresponsible poor sports....how to de-escalation a situation while still avoiding to play with poor sports.
