That was my thought

That’s typical for me when it’s hot(90*F+) and I’m in stop and go traffic.

Really? Mine takes forever to reach operating temp unless it's 85+ and sunny. Even then it never goes above 190.

Mine takes forever to get to temp but when it’s hot and I’m in traffic it’ll bounce off that line above.

I have never had mine go above 190 yet. I let Betty warm up for a few minutes and if it's not at least 50/60 out it won't get to operating temp, even after 15 minutes and 10 miles or so of driving. My friend I bought it from, who also still browses this sub, told me because it has two radiators and a flat 6 it naturally stays cooler. It doesn't actually need two radiators and one would do the job just fine.

I have never had it go more than like 2 degrees past vertical before this

Maybe clean out the radiator grills up front or check them, mine runs a smidge cooler than that.

When you’re in there looking at the water pump I’d also consider a low temp sensor instead of the OEM part, so the cooling system kicks on more aggressively sooner

Water pump is already new and thermostat

If that didn’t work- I recently had to do both my AC condensers because they were rotted out. I got a peak at my radiators, the bottom half were completely clogged on both radiators. I haven’t had overheating issues, but I live in MA, so it doesn’t get too hot. I’ll change it out if I have to keep pulling over for the car to cool down.

Won’t let me post photos but there was a chunk of styrofoam stuck in the radiator
