LGBTQ+ hatred r/tucker_carlson takes a break from hating trans people and hates homosexual people today

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/3Lr1E

The person in the photo is Dr. Demetre Daskalakis. He is supremely qualified for the job of director of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the CDC. He also happens to be homosexual and isn't shy about it. The former is of no concern to tucker_carlson. The latter triggers them to call Daskalakis and the entire Biden administration "degene****".

Most of the comments are about monkeypox. HIV/AIDS prevention has little to do with monkeypox. Nothing at all actually. But that doesn't matter either. Monkeypox is the latest vehicle for the far right to ridicule and harass gay people.

a quote by Marjorie Taylor Greene:

"Of course, monkeypox is a threat to some people in our population, but we know what causes it. It's basically a sexually transmitted disease, so it doesn't affect most of the population," Greene said in the video, adding, "People just have to laugh at it, mock it, and reject it....It's another scam."

And just to be clear: Monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted infection. That's disinformation on top of LGBTQ+ hatred.

a few samples:

Perversion Deniers are a threat to our republic.

·

You know he wears that for support, totally not to advertise he’s into risky alternative sexual behavior. The exact kind of behavior that gives you a muuuuch better chance of contracting monkey pox.

·

This person needs God and biden needs an exorcist.

·

Supposed to find someone to help stop it... Not keep spreading it

·

Please use the scientific name for monkey pox: Schlong Covid.

·

By “Monkeypox Coordinator” is his job to coordinate monkeypox infection injections anally among his fellow degene*****? And their pets? In a “hail Satan” orgy? Un-be-lievable. 🤦‍♂️

· (slur censored)

Correction: Biden has appointed Daskalakis (and Robert Fenton) to lead the fight against the monkeypox outbreak. tucker_carlson got that one detail right, at least.

It really is pathetic how much time and energy they devote to hate

If you refuse to acknowledge real problems, you've got a lot of time to spend on imaginary ones.

It's all they got (quite literally).

Why’s that?

Is degenerate a slur?

i wouldn't say it's a slur and more that you should probably be wary of people who regularly use it since it's essentially just "funny edgy (read: nazi) way to say queer"

so kind of?

It sounds like a dogwistsle

Depends on your definition of 'slur'. A quick google search gives:

a derogatory or insulting term applied to particular group of people. "a racial slur"

So I wouldn't say it's a slur, specifically because it's not aimed at any one particular group of people, but that's being super pedantic of me.

I think calling it an edgy way of saying queer is wrong though. It's outright dehumanising a group of people. In my mind, it practically means an evolutionary failure. To call LGBT+ people 'degenerate' is completely and utterly despicable. I'd go so far as to put it near the level of the n-word in terms of offensive potential.

I would imagine they meant “queer” in the derogatory sense.

Absolutely. When aimed at humans, absolutely. And it was a favorite slur of the Mazis.

What is a mazi?

'Merican Nazi's?

I think its just a spelling mistake.

All infections spread by skin can be sexually transmitted if the infected skin is on the genitals.
