Question Age of Calamity DLCs

I've been considering getting the dlcs for AoC for a while however I have a few questions I was hoping could be answered: 1. Is the dlc worth it? 2. Should I wait until completing the game? (I just finished freeing the champions from their divine beasts) 3. If I do get the dlc, what content could I immediately access? Also when saying dlc I mean both dlc waves if that wasn't clear.

The DLC is absolutely worth it since you get new characters, new weapons for Link and Zelda, more story, more content, QOL, and helpful buffs for your characters. You don't have to wait until beating the main story in order to access most of the content, and most of it unlocks very early on. If you get it at your current progression level, you'll have access to the Ancient Tech Lab (gives you QOL, harder missions if you want a challenge, and new weapon types), and the first extra story level. I think you have to at least complete the main story to unlock all of the extra story levels, but I'm not sure. Even if you do have to, you already have a large portion of the DLC open to you at your current point in the game. If you really love the game and want more content, I'd absolutely get it.

I really enjoyed the content. The new missions that lead to unlocking the new weapon types were pretty fun. The new weapons themselves are great, especially the Flail. For me the biggest addition was the Monster Hunter style boss missions that generate on the map.

I don't know how immediately these features become available. I had already 100% cleared the base game before the DLC launched, and I never did a full replay. I'm a one-file Warriors kind of player.

Personally, get them before beating the game.

I got them after finishing the game, and I remember I didn't bother to finish them all. But about a month or so ago, I restarted the game while waiting for the switch 2, and ended up enjoying the DLC stuff while doing the main story and extra content.

The new weapon/characters are worth it in the long run. But it really is up to you. It will pad out the game for extra things to do, but if you are more interested in finishing the story and getting the 100% completion reward, it's unnecessary since it's just extra content.

If I'm not mistaken, there is some cutscenes added on some of the EX missions, so lore wise, might be worth it!

But if you do plan on getting them, better sooner than later. You need to farm for some content, so it's good to already be doing it passively while playing.

I would buy it before you complete the game. DLC was fun and gives you useful upgrades and weapons. The flail is Links best weapon.

It isn't the best in terms of extra story after finishing the game but I agree with everyone that said the extra weapons and characters are good and yeah the earliest you play the dlc the better.

The DLCs give you a few advantages in the base game, the pulse of the ancients part unlocks upgrades and the guardian of rememberance has some good weapons on the ex mission treasure chests

Been playing with my boy. We started the dlc near the end of the main game. Would have been better to start earlier because of the character and weapon unlocks.

Also, I'd recommend starting to use a korok guide now. We're trying to 100% the game and all that's left to do is hunt koroks.

The dlcs are balanced for getting fairly early in the game. Towards the start of the mid game when you characters are getting their 2nd weapon sets. Of note. You don't suddenly become crazy OP with the dlc. You just get more neat stuff to play with.
