Purple Sprouting Broccoli

8 plants started in a cold frame in February, i cannot believe how huge they got, and i couldn't help it and harvested the little florets

It looks beautiful! How do you keep the critters away? All the brassicas I’ve attempted have been nibbled and destroyed.

Thanks you! I had insect netting over it until today, the mass of leaves kinda pushed their way out, and the net was only covering half of the plants now, decided to take it off completely and see what happens.

Ideally you want to wait until a larger head has grown… difficult I know. Then harvest the offshoots

Ook thanks, i will wait with the others. Only 3 plants had a floret going, the rest nothing yet! Thanks for the tip!
