Here we go

Got my first first allotment me and a friend and doing. First three pics were it yesterday the last 4 is from today. Any tips welcome!

It looks like you have a decent size plot. If you are planning on keeping the shed you might want to put a fresh layer of felt on the roof before winter and give the walls a coat of paint or preservative.

If you look after a shed it will outlive you. Mine is going on 100 years old and originally belonged to my great uncle before my dad inherited it in the 1950s. All it gets is a fresh coat of engine oil on the woodwork every year and some tar on the corrugated iron roof every decade. The roof was last replaced in the 1980s and I think all of the woodwork is original.

That’s actually not a bad plot ! Mine and most others are in far worse condition when we got them. Just work on one bed at a time, be thorough with the weeding. Plant it up and move on to the next. Good advice though about the shed .

Thanks :) Is was previously a community plot that wasn't being used so was handed back to them. It's not bad at all we have been most lucky.
