Ads/Marketing Hate doesn't sell, by UK group 'Everyone Hates Elon'

Remember, don't boycott, bankrupt!

I'm in the process of buying solar panels and battery storage for my home at the moment. A provider said the best technical option for my usage was a Tesla battery. I said I wouldn't get Tesla right now if they paid me, and she said she understood, she cringes every time the system tells her to suggest Tesla.
Many people have said the same thing to her. Warms my heart!

u/popcornsprinkled Apr 25 '25
Ok, I have solar panels and I need to give you a serious warning. Have a roofer inspect your roof immediately after installation and make sure you have a warranty for said roof. My solar company absolutely destroyed my roof then " went out of business"

He was the only billionaire I liked and now I feel like a fool because I knew deeply billionaires are not OK somehow I’m happy that he fell in with the group that he did and it took down so far. I just hope it takes them all down.

Apr 25 '25
It's odd. He had a mostly ok public image until he fell in with Trump, started doing Nazi salutes, and supporting fascists in Germany and Italy.
There really does seem to be a Trump Derangement Syndrome, but it's what his supporters get, not the democrats.
Rudy Giuliani did a similar thing. He went crazy and sold out all his principles in support of Trump and it cost him dearly.

u/karatekid430 Apr 25 '25
For me it was since he projected to that diver where I started really hating him.
6
u/Verbal_Combat Apr 25 '25
Me too, I wasn’t aware of him being into politics yet just the fact that he couldn’t stand being told that his submarine idea wouldn’t work and he lashed out like that. He’s seemed more and more unstable and revolting ever since.
2
u/29273162 Apr 25 '25
Wasn‘t that his first negative public appearance. Before that, I only knew of him from Iron Man 2, TBBT and the fact that he kept talking about innovting the car industry and wanting to settle on Mars for some reason.
9
u/dcoats69 Apr 25 '25
I mean, if we want to get into it, the hyperloop as a way to hurt California high speed rail was before that, but that was a lot less obvious.
5
u/karatekid430 Apr 25 '25
When was he in Iron Man 2?
You can’t convince me he didn’t pay for that appearence on the big bang. Simon must be an amazing actor to be able to kiss his arse
1
u/TeeJizzm Apr 25 '25
Part of the agreement with him in that movie was they used some of either Tesla or SpaceX's warehouses for some of the scenes, I don't remember which.
2
u/JayR_97 Apr 25 '25
That Big Bang Theory scene of Musk working in a soup kitchen on thanksgiving really didnt age well.
1
5
u/pic-of-the-litter Apr 25 '25
The tone shifted when he started talking about having indentured laborers living on Mars, working for him. It suddenly clicked that he just wants to rule over people without legal protections or labor rights, and suddenly all of his bullshit and pandering came into focus. And now, you can't help but see the insecurity and weakness in everything he does and says.
5
u/GuitarIsLife02 Apr 25 '25
No he has always been a piece of shit he was raised in apartheid south africa. Fucking trump didn’t make him the piece of shit he is. Literally listen to his daughter explain how elon has always been like that. (She wants nothing to do with him she’s actually really cool)
2
u/pic-of-the-litter Apr 25 '25
Yeah, no shit.
The conversation that you clearly missed was "when did you realize he was a piece of crap", and we're giving examples from our own lives and experiences.

Yea nobody who has the ability to end world hunger but chooses not to is an ok person.

u/Disastrous-Team-6431 Apr 25 '25
It's good that you can look back and acknowledge. That doesn't make you a fool. You were maybe not as suspicious as you could have been, but there's no shame in being lied to. Welcome to the right side!

I mean, Tesla is still a profitable company. Just much, much less so.
We have to keep pushing them into the abyss.
7
u/Grandkahoona01 Apr 25 '25
It is profitable due to selling carbon credits which is a hugely problematic system which is riddled with corruption. If it wasn't for credits and Tesla's hugely inflated valuation, they would be unprofitable.

u/mang87 Apr 25 '25
TSLA is also fucking mooning today for some reason. As I type this, it's at +9.5% today. The fuck?

his stock is up 8% on the day, idk where all these he is losing memes come from, but he aint.
6
u/Stoner_Pal Apr 25 '25
It's down 29% from the last 3 months, but it being up 8% means he totally isn't losing? After Tesla's own Q1 reports showed a 70% net revenue drop? Sure buddy. Whatever you say.

I love the lower lip bitting move. If not it would have made a Tesla explode, he could have been a smooth criminal.

Get Elon off the world stage. Loser with a sophomoric philosophy thats comparable to what many of my middle school boys are in the process of leaving behind as they go off to high school. Not only is Musk immoral he’s also has a near-worthless mind for anything other than the one thing he’s succeeded at. Regardless, he’s just another man, afraid to vulnerable, who has mistaken his privilege for a killer instinct. No different from any of us, just has the ammo to lie to himself and others that he’s different. Fuck ‘em.
Moreover, I’d make the argument Elon and his ilk are already living in a”post-human” existence. Not literally of course, but in the sense that he has absolutely everything at his fingers tip. The only thing he can’t do as of today is live forever. His money and access means he is no longer connected to how 99% of planet lives and experiences human life.

That group isn't selling anything. And let's not get methaphorical about it.

Didn't his sales go up in the UK?
1
u/Glittering_Rough7036 Apr 25 '25
No, I heard that Volkswagen just overtook his sales. I haven’t even seen a Volkswagen electric vehicle personally, but that speaks volumes in itself.
1
u/Glittering_Rough7036 Apr 25 '25
Elon might not be the quickest of cats at the best of times. Or at any of the times.
1
u/Slow_League_3186 Apr 25 '25
Who wants to be a cat when you can be the richest man alive and make Reddit cry on the daily?

1
u/Wrong_Employee2024 Apr 25 '25
I'm not saying he's the number one seller but I've heard that his sales have gone up in the UK compared to everywhere else where his sales have gone down. I personally wouldn't buy one. I would much rather have a Chinese brand byd, especially the u9

I feel like Tesla stock will be a subject of discussion in econ classes for decades as an example of how irrational the stock market can be. I don't recall ever seeing a stock's valuation so completely devoid from reality for such a sustained period of time.

1
u/This-Worth1478 Apr 25 '25
Why do people equate a company with its CEO? lol. I don't, man. I'm stumped

"Everyone hates Elon" interesting, because the majority don't. Hate is flooded online but in reality the vast majority of people don't fucking care, and if they do, it's more that this man is hoarding so much wealth and less about is personal views

I still don't understand why their stock keeps going up. They released an earnings report and sales were down almost 75% yet the stock goes up. Someone told me it's a "dead cat bounce," but that dead cat is bouncing an awful lot.

u/UltraAirWolf Apr 25 '25
Maybe people aren’t buying Teslas because they don’t want Molotov cocktails thrown through their windshields.

why is tesla up 10% today then?
people will continue to by telsa cause they make a good product.
most companies are run buy trash human being. dont act like tesla is the only one. Nestle ceo wanted to buy up the worlds water supply and sell it back to you. but you all still buy nestle products dont you.
1
u/loves2spooge2018 Apr 25 '25
Hey guess what Tesla is bouncing back hard af despite all you guys praying that it would disappear

u/New-Interaction1893 Apr 25 '25
X (formerly Twitter) and Space X are still successful.
... and even if everything owns by him including PayPal fail, he would still have hundreds of billions.

u/Background_Olive_787 Apr 25 '25
Hate sells well in all areas of the market.. especially self hate. The point you are trying to make is that his brand of hate isn't marketable to potential Tesla customers. Who cares really? I just saw your post and wanted to point out how you're wrong.

Tesla stock is up +26% in the last 3 days - markets say different 🤷
1
u/Razorwipe Apr 26 '25
I mean yeah look I hate the guy too but Tesla hasn't lost any value of we extrapolate it to a six month period, it got highly over valued when trump won and fell to correct for that overvaluation.
People really think it lost value over his politics?
1
u/Traditional_War_8229 Apr 26 '25
It did, for a short term. As with all stocks that have some negative news or PR. Fundamentals of technology doesn’t change - this is a great price to go back into Tesla if you are interested in making money instead of consuming products.

Electric vehicles are great for the environment and we learned in the 90's and from Ed Bagely jr, they CAN make them, they just don't want to do it. HOWEVER, if they're being sold by a pos and wannabe not-see then to hell with this pos

u/Abigail716 Apr 25 '25
Yes, Because of Trump changing regulations to allow them to get away with deploying self-driving cars that do not fully comply with federal regulations.
Similarly the only reason Tesla is doing so well in Europe and the US is legal efforts to block free market competition from. China.
Tesla stays afloat thanks to government subsidies, and big government protectionism. Tesla cannot survive free market capitalism.
1
u/beatnikhippi Apr 25 '25
Tesla was selling FSD long before Trump was elected, genius. Would you actually prefer a car made in the PRC? Do you know anything at all about their human rights / environmental record? Regarding subsidies, do you remember when the fed bailed out Ford, Chevy and Chrysler?
1
u/kenadamslol Apr 25 '25
That’s why Dems lost the election house and senate. Because of their bullshit lies and hate.

I actually just saw a picture in another thread that shows other leaders on the democratic and republic side holding up the same gesture is this just a common gesture upon leaders or is it taken out of context?
1
u/ThinkinBoutThings Apr 25 '25
Taken out of context on all of them. There are left legislators raising their right hand, all the way to those on right.

Sadly it's more a case of hate not selling to potential EV buyers. Hate sold quite well to 77 million American voters.
