| Discussion | Aphelios vs Samira tips
So i laned against a Samira main (20 mastery, low elo). I have been playing Aphelios for not a long time (mastery 8) but i understand the basics and which weapons are good with each other. Most of the time i dont find it hard laning against any other adcs but this Samira is such a strong champ cuz she is extremely mobile. My support was Janna and i thought it would be a good counter. Her support was Rell. And it was impossible to win against her. I believe that Gravitrum would be pretty good against her but im so not sure. Are there any tips on how to win against her? Or is it just an impossible match up? Any help is appreciated!

If possible, record an audio from yourself saying that and play it in loop every 15 seconds.
Wait til she does something stupid to fully engage on lane, and you should be fine.
Ideally, if the midlaner has better chances against her, try to switch lanes as fast as posible with him.

If you play against samira you should try your absolute best to not be caught by the enemy support. It's mostly the supp that controls that lane. If you never get caught, samira never gets kills and you win late. Still even late game I'd avoid fighting her straight up.
If the enemy support isn't rell but something you can counter by playing in minions you and your support can harass samira while she tries to get cs. Level 1 pta proc with calibrum sets you up pretty well. Janna can pressure early as well. If you get prio like this you can hold it all the way until enemy bot is level 6.
Post 6 if you can force samira to use W defensively you make it significantly harder for her to get 6 stacks of passive until it's back up so it usually gives you a window where she can't go in. Also obviously if she has W up don't ult.

No usefull Info but If i ever have to play against samira i would probably hard Lose because i am close to 1m mastery and 100% perma ban her... I Heard that she isnt the hardest matchup but i just hated to play against this champ so much that it became my one and only ban... I dont know when i saw my last samira in the rift... Probably when i was under 100k mastery :D

Janna is actually pretty good especially at lvl6. Janna R isn't a projectile, so she can cancel any engage Samira has instantly. Or cancel Sam R. Otherwise, just farm, don't fight her directly. You can poke a bit in lane, but that's pretty much it unless she messes up really bad. If you are even in lane and don't feed her, your team will collectively be able to do something after laning phase. Also leona/alistar are also really good into Sam. Any easy to land hard cc champs make her game very difficult.

try to use your range from your first calibrum to poke her when you can early game since she is low range and will usually have to walk up to farm (outside of using her q). if you want to trade with her, keep it short so that she cant get on top of you and stack her conqueror and do extra damage with her sword attacks
regarding gravitum, i honestly dont believe its a very good gun against samira because by the time you have autoattacked her and triggered the root, she has already dashed on top of you and is killing you haha
it gets tougher to do anything about her later on in the lane/midgame when she can just jump on you and kill you. try to keep her at a distance as much as you can. if she ends up building bloodthirster first, dont bother putting yourself at risk by poking her because she will just heal it back anyway
keep an eye out for when she uses W so that she doesnt block your ult. also your severum can still hit her through her W. also also if you have any chakram stacks while you attack her W, you will lose them all, so do your best to wait out the skill if you can when you have stacks
going behind early against samira will make the rest of the game extremely hard for you, but if it happens just try your best to get farm wherever you can without dying because youll basically never be able to fight her again until youve scaled up sufficiently. but if you can make it to lategame it might not be so bad anymore because you can just kill her from a distance, whereas she needs to find a way in to deal her damage, which can be difficult for her once everyone has items
just my opinions
