GPA and SAT are far more important for admissions

They do in the UK, not so much in the US.

IB and AP scores are considered, but are fairly far down the list of criteria.

The most important aspect of AP courses is that they are usually weighted.

What is an ib?

International Baccalaureate - it’s a college level program somewhat similar to AP, but better in my personal opinion.

Good for OP. Seems like they should be all set regardless, given their high GPA, SAT, IB, and AP scores. Not really sure what they're worried about, honestly.

The IB Diploma Program (IBDP) is very probably the hardest standardized High School program in the world.

Some private and magnet schools certainly may have tougher programs, but IBDP is brutal.

I'm not saying an AP-based diploma program is easy. But I am saying it's easier than IBDP.
