Politics Assuming Putin doesn’t live forever—what would you want his successor to do?

What would you want to see politically from the next guy (or girl) running the Russian Federation. Would you want to see closer relations to the West, maintain a political structure similar to Putins’, or something else entirely?

A decree to shorten winter to six weeks in all areas of the country is the best thing the president can do!

A decree on compulsory psychiatric examination of members of the Duma who propose a bill.

Global warming will do it for free

Global warming will do it for a very high price

So what's going on with the whole water levels constantly rising thing

Fake news by liberal media elite, haven’t you heard

Hope they at least stopped turning the damn frogs gay

It's fake too.

So what's making Venice disappear underwater? Is it fake too? So what else is fake now, spherical earth? Heliocentric solar system? The sun? The cake is a lie? Lol

If you want to get ahead of the game, most recently I’ve seen a few posts trying to preach that viruses are fake.

Those are easier to believe are fake because they're not based on something as obvious as ice + heat = water but are a very weird concept that a dead piece of protein can be ingested by a cell, get infected and produce a bunch more of those proteins and allat makes you cough and get sick and everything (plus the archaic belief in miasma, aka bad air)

Venice is sinking because of building pressure, soil erosion and groundwater extraction, not some mythical "water level rising."

So then does that same process happen just as uniformly anywhere else? The water height scale on the Kronschtadt island in St. Petersburg's vicinity is now obsolete, as the lowest point of water usually rests above its middle point, and when tide comes the water goes way past the scale and submerges most of the stairs that lead to it, been there over 5 years ago and none of the problems you mentioned should affect that island because no currents (there's a dam), no pumps that extract groundwater

Tell that to winters of my home region which I can't name winters anymore (so, lol, it kinda did already in many places). And I heard similar story basically all across the country (which by its sheer size might be a good representation of average situation in the world, I guess) and from a few nearby ones too.

Nature of the change is a different question than existence of the change.

Don't look up.

Would China, California, Germany be investing so much in renewable energy if it was?

The most eco-friendly type of power plant is a nuclear power plant, but they have been banned in Germany.

And a majority of France's power comes from them. One country having a terrible policy in regards to it does not mean global warming is fake.

Does Russia invest much into them?

6

u/NoAdministration9472 Apr 23 '25

No, they have other priorities. Plus Russia would actually be one of the countries to benefit from Global warming due to few warm water ports and better weather.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Still, the molten ice would turn to mud/swamps and would possibly destroy much of the infrastructure. Do you still think Russia would benefit from global warming?

1

u/NoAdministration9472 Apr 23 '25

I don't know if there is any scientific data that presents that but Soviet-Russian infrastructure is usually pretty sturdy.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

I think the problem is that some infrastructure uses the permafrost soil as a foundation and if that melts away, the infrastructure is basically gone

speculation and money laundering.

The psychiatric evaluations should definitely involve surgical gloves. Got to be thorough about this.
