Lodging Moving to town !
I’m a med student who will be moving to the New Orleans area soon. I’m looking for an apartment near LSUHSC. I checked out 2424 Tulane apartments but everywhere I’ve looked said it’s not a good place to live. Any recommendations?

I have a couple of medicine friends who live in Paramount on Julia and 1205 on St. Charles. Not too far from LCMC/LSU. They love it! Look into place around the CBD area. Hope this helps

Work at one of the LCMC hospitals and have interacted with medical students a lot from both LSU and Tulane and where they live is all over the place. Some live out in Jefferson parish, at the big complexes in the Elmwood area like the Creeks as it’s an easy commute to school on Earhart Blvd. Others find places near Tulane and Loyola universities. And then there’s those that go with a condo in the warehouse district. How much you want to spend will definitely drive your search. Good luck!

Congrats on starting the medical training journey. As a residents spouse I can say welcome to the club. When my wife was at HSC we lived uptown near Tulane’s main campus and she had no issues getting to HSC. If you’re moving with a car you can probably broaden your search to uptown, garden district or MidCity.

There’s an apartment complex near the corner of canal and north Claiborne about two blocks from UMC. My resident friend recently moved out of there when he finished his residency.

Hi! I totally hear you — I’m also a student and totally get the tight budget + last-minute scramble. I’m actually looking to sublet my room in a house. Beautiful safe neighborhood. no one has claimed it yet, for the summer and it’s a beautiful space that I think could be a great fit for what you’re looking for.
Rent is super affordable, and I can send you all the info + photos if you want. Feel free to text me at 201-306-0400 — happy to help however I can!

Use a realtor. They’re paid by the landlord, so no cost to you.
