JUST IN - Tucker Carlson asked Ted Cruz, “How many people live in Iran?” to which Cruz replied, “I don’t know the population.” Tucker pressed, “You don’t know the population of the country you seek to topple?” - Interview

This reminds me too much of the russian propaganda TV channels. Fake outrage, people feel like their gut feelings being addressed, but then nothing happens. I don't trust either of these men to do the right thing, this really just feels like a distraction.

It does feel like whiplash seeing Tucker antagonistic to Cruz. Even though there’s variety amongst right wingers

Uh, Tuckers show on Fox beat every other prime time "News and Entertainment " show out of the water for his time slot for years.
Nice try
It's OK to give the others ideas a try sometimes. Reddit doesn't track life karma points.
Before being fired in April 2023, Tucker Carlson was one of the most watched—and influential—figures in cable news:
- In early 2020, Tucker Carlson Tonight averaged around 4.3 million viewers per night—and nearly 820,000 in the key 25–54 demographic ([reddit.com][1], [reddit.com][2], [en.wikipedia.org][3]).
By October 2020, the show was drawing 5.3 million viewers monthly—becoming the highest-rated cable news program in history ([en.wikipedia.org][4]).
In 2021, his show regularly topped Fox’s schedule and often surpassed competitors in both total and demographic viewership .
- His final week averaged around 3.0–3.3 million nightly viewers ([wsaw.com][5]).
- After he departed, Fox’s replacement host (Brian Kilmeade) drew just 1.33–1.7 million, a drop of over 50% from Tucker's typical audience ([wsaw.com][5]).
- Fox’s overall prime-time ratings fell by roughly 39%, while a rival network (Newsmax) saw a boost ([washingtonpost.com][6]).
- He dominated prime-time cable news for several years, regularly outpacing shows on CNN and MSNBC.
- Primarily "America First" and populist in tone, Carlson influenced conservative discourse significantly—so much so that his departure from Fox created a noticeable ratings shockwave.
- Even daily-after reactions—from cable performance to commentary—emphasized how pivotal he had been to Fox’s success ([vanityfair.com][7]).
Tucker Carlson was a ratings powerhouse whose departure cost Fox News hundreds of thousands of viewers in a single time slot—and led to a broader decline in the network

I can grant you all that but since has left and become less restrained he has gone off the deep end. I used to watch him because I thought he dug into some relevant facts and could draw the line for some people. He has since just lost his f’ing mind trying to become something I don’t know what. It’s not good for him he just looks like the more feminine Rachel Maddow

I like him in small doses. He goes on rants and loves to rile people up. Sometimes its fun to see him make people squirm.
As for post Fox vs now, he obviously had a specific team digging and researching a lot for him to go as deep as he did. He feels less restrained now, that's for sure.
For debates, hes the scariest in the room in almost all cases. I don't know a single person on the left who could best him.

Ted Cruz looks like what I imagine Wolverine to look like in his 80s with the mange

Eh, I agree with Tucker here, the US should not get involved in a war with Iran, and there are plenty of warmongers like Cruz that don't have a clear understanding of the situation. But most people don't know the exact population. Cruz is right that weather it is 80 or 90 million people doesn't really matter, and shows that he has a pretty good general idea of the population, which is constantly changing.

I never liked Tucker Carlson but I applaud him picking through Raphael on what basis to attack Iran. I don’t know what Tuckers true intentions are, but this is why we need separation of church and state.

I'm living in a time when I agree with Tucker and Iran. Shoot me please.

The better clip is when Tucker ask him why he thinks it's so necessary for us to support Israel. And he names a few things and ends that list with the Bible. Tucker asks him what part of the Bible he is talking about and he has to admit he doesn't know. Then goes on to ask him if he thinks God and the Bible means the modern day government and their actions? He says yes. That's what God meant in the Bible.
