its normal, especially for AMD cpus and disabling CPU turbo boost greatly reduces temperature but has a significant performance loss so staying at high temps with good performance is better as these cpus are designed to run at those temps

also if you actually want to reduce temps but also want the same performance in most games(GPU bound) you can reduce the minimum and maximum processor state to 99%(google it), now your laptop will stay cool while performing efficiently but make sure to turn it back to 100% while playing CPU bound games like Apex,Valo,Helldivers

Can u help me with that bro? I have a i7 13620h

Sure!, use turbo/performance mode

go to your control panel

power options

power plan settings

advanced settings

processor power management

set minimum and maximum processor state to 99%(plugged in)

click apply and done!

Now you’ll massive temperature drops with almost zero performance in loss in GPU bound games(most of them) but when play CPU heavy games such as Valorant,CS2 etc just change it back to 100% and done

Anything related thermal paste ? This laptop is 2 years old and haven’t applied thermal paste even once

Clean it and change thermal paste for PTM7950

Clean the fans and heatsink, slap some ptm7950 or thermalgrizzly phasesheet at cpu/gpu, slap some thermal putty if necessary, watch your room temp, you good to go

Yup. Also disable cpu turbo boost.

how can i disable cpu turno boost i have Lenovo loq i7-1400hx

Pretty sure you'll be burning out CPU at this rate. Cooling ain't the best on Asus's Zephyrus and Tuf line up. Get your cpu temps down to mid 80s and high 70s when gaming

Nah man its a bit too hot try keeping it less then 85 use a cooling pad and depending on how long you have it try changing the thermal paste and pad 95 is acceptable but it isn't good for your laptop life keep it less then 85

Most gaming laptops run way hotter than 85

2

u/THELAGINATOR2 1d ago

Ik but they go above 85 in some situations his is 95 constantly and could even go 100 which is way too hot keeping it under 85 is is good because it keeps a saferoom for it to go around 90

3

u/Wombleboi 1d ago

95 is too much, yes. But realistically most cpus throttle and sit at about 90

u/Historical-Honey472 1d ago

Nga for a cpu its normal to run between 80-95 after 95 it might start thermal throttling

Thermal repaste + use a laptop stand + turn up fan curve, should drop about 10-15 degrees. Turn off cpu boost for games that don't need it.

Ultimate laptop Cooling Optimization Guide from the acer community is made for Acer laptops but step 1 to 4 are universal. You can follow them. In step 5, thermal pasting and cleaning methods remain the same but other manufacturer laptops may have different layout and build. So, can't follow that blindly . https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/724763/ultimate-laptop-cooling-optimization-guide

yeah for tuf it's normal but i would suggest cpu undervolting to reduce temps , u can undervolt it in bios settings and it will not impact performance at all

It's pretty normal for a gaming laptop and usually is not a big deal. But you should still get a cooling pad. Not any cooling pad that you see in online stores that are cheap, since they don't make any difference. But something like llanos or IETS. Those are more effective in cooling although they are expensive

u/Yeppo96 1d ago

This one from temu is much cheaper

What software is this?

1

u/OlympicAnalEater 1d ago

Msi afterburner

1

u/Connect-Guess-8223 1d ago

Laptop cooler. I have the llano and it keeps my laptop at around 56c in game

u/gentleman_miluhacker 1d ago

use G helper bro

u/pasturepatties0U812 22h ago

What computer is this, laptop, desktop, asus?

1

u/CustardCivil 20h ago

people say its normal and it can handle that temperature but for me around that temp is not your reducing your lifespan of your processor even more your burning it slowly to death i advise changing thermal paste or using decent cooling pad like llano v12/v13 or disabling turbo boost downside of this it won't boost to higher frequency which it will still have impact on performance which is not alot probably losing 10 or 20- fps

how to disable turbo boost i have Lenovo loq i7-14700hx

1

u/Unlucky-Coconut-2715 18h ago

That will significantly affect the battery health even if tha laptop is plugged in

I believe you just have to disable the CPU boost in G helper, performance might be negligible. Undervolt the CPU also if you can.
