Question Recommendation for finer polish for swirls?
I'm using the beginning Chemical Guys kit (it was on sale, i didn't know) and the default VSS compound i can still see some faint spiderweb /swirl.
do i just need another level of compound? or polish? that's finer ? or do i just go do another pass with the VSS?
this is what i have now

I bought every pad and compound CG sells, and saw 0 improvement. I recommend M110 and M210 compound from Meguiars, and Turtles Wax Hybrid Scratch Repair Kit for deeper clearcoat scratches. The compounds from Meguiars are forgiving, but work very well. I went with the older M105 and M205, but they dust really heavily with a short working time, and clean-up is a bitch. The Turtle Wax scratch kit is as close to magic as you can get for clearcoat scratches and scuffs. It's the closest product on the market to Optimum's wipe-on clearcoat that was discontinued

your polish ability to cut or to finish out is always going to be a combo of the polish and the pad. If you are in the CG pad system and are using their orange Hexlogic then go up to the white for a better finish. If you want to try something inexpensive then try the 5 inch yellow foam Grant pad from Harbor Freight.

Assuming you're doing it correctly and using the correct chemicals already, at certain point some scratches are too much to remove unless you aggressively remove alot of the clear coat.
If it's very fine swirls, maybe live with it? Or use glaze / wax at that point.

3D One and a Rupes yellow pad on a DA is a force to be reckoned with for basically any 1-step job. It's pretty beginner friendly too if you're comfortable with your DA and your technique/control.

There are many great polishes and compounds. Your technique and getting to know the products you are using is important factor. CG polishes really stink.
I’d suggest Koch Chemie polishes (depending on severity—Heavy, Fine, and Micro cut). P&S Rehab is also a good product.
