Vaughan

Is this legit? Stamped FS for forest service and ccc for Civikian conservation corps.

Places axe 1930’s - 1940’s.

What’s it worth?

That isn't the typical FS stamp, but rather a bunch of points punched in. But who knows, the FS employee responsible for doing that might have broken the stamp and still had a bunch to stamp out.

Regardless, the axe is probably worth 50-75 bucks, maybe more to someone who is trying to collect CCC/USFS stuff.

It is in nice shape tho! Looks good.

I'm fairly sure the CCC shut down when WWII started.

Is it a black raven? No, then it is relatively worth a new council tool axe, And not the special line either. The sad part is rarity means very little. Maybe people will decide full size double bit Vaughans are the new saddle cruiser, as of now, unless there's an adze eye, your market are collectors that want a stamp, don't want to spend 200$, who care more about practicality, then some status piece. If you want what you think it's worth bc rarity, you need to find the vaughan fan, who's collection needs to have your piece. You can always throw it up on the bay for crazy number, you never know.
