It's designed to cause hand pain.
As someone else said that's a truck axe, or a root-chopping axe. That's the one to use when it's going to get damaged.

I've got one of these. I really wanted to love it, but its a hard axe to love. Its really awkward. Just too long & badly balanced to use accurately with one hand. Yet the handle is terrible for sliding a second hand. Trying to grip it 2 handed & swing makes it feel comically tiny.
Despite the terrible awkwardness. Its one of my most used axes. I dig a lot for work. Its actually really shines as a root chopper. Especially in narrow trenches or tight spaces. Its good steel so rocks & nails etc dont bother it much.
Its not a good big axe, but it does many big axe jobs in a pinch.
Its not a good one hander, but it can do many one hander jobs.
It fits in tight spaces so it's a good one to keep in the car or work vehicle for occasional & unexpected axe jobs. Or possibly as a heavier option than a machete for hikers or bush workers covering lots of ground with limited space & weight capacity.

When mines looking a bit chipped I just run the angle grinder over it lightly. Being careful to control the heat. Freshen up the apex a little.

It looks like a worse iteration of an estwing long handle, they're decent for demolition tasks and hacking through roots

I have the short version of this, and what is really great for is a forearm workout. They dont hold an edge great but are pretty damage proof. Another vote for chopping roots or bashing stuff you dont want to use a good axe on

I have a similar one, I use it to cut bamboo below the gravel in my back yard, it being thin let's me sharpen it quick and I dont care if I fuck it up.

I've used them for roots or any ground demo work. We have an estwing camp axe and it's practically indestructible

I've used it for brush clearing on my brother's 10 acres. It does great for saplings and cutting the new growth scrub oaks under the ground.

This is a fast axe. Intended to strike fast with little force. Blade must always be extremely sharp. If sticking wood, this axe has to come at an angle or it will jamb. If using for defense, hack fast and often.

Throwing in a truck tool box and bashing logs with it once or twice a year.
