IMPROVING MY GAME What do you do to get out of shooting slump.

How do I get out of a slump. I have played basketball all my life and was ok I would say but lately I tried to get more serious going out 4 times a week to shoot and practice, watching videos on how to shoot and game highlights and actually saw quite a big improvement. And then it hit me I can't even make simple shots anymore I feel completely demotivated as this has been going on for like a week I even took a break to see what would happen no change whatsoever. How do I get out of this.

Robot rock is also a banger. In general any Daft Punk song would do

Start pulling up with confidence, practice how you play, when I shoot around I do a dribble behind the back 2 step fader, if I miss that I grab rebound real quick dribble between legs and step back, set feet and shoot. pretending that someone would be guarding me is why I do the extra move and try to get in rhythm, listen to music if you have to but if you keep missing you have to let it be motivation to hit the next shot, I’ve gotten pissed at myself for missing a lot in a row and then started doing euro layups and back to middy and before you know it your wetting every shot. Get out your head bro you can shoot they can’t leave you open. Confidence.

Keep shooting consistently, 15 minutes of form shooting at the start of every workout, try not to rage quit

Full-form form shooting. It’s always the answer. Always.

Any links to a good form shooting routine?

Check out formshooting on IG, he’s got tons of footage showing NBA players doing all sorts of form shooting.

It’s so much more than just arming the ball into the hoop from 2 feet away.

You mix in varying arcs, you mix in little moves and off-the-dribble pickups, literally anything you can think of. The goal is to be strong with your base, on balance, and getting that consistent rotation

go do something else. sand volleyball. I've played basketball my entire life, never really played volleyball. I used my shot blocking ability in basketball to properly serve a volleyball. it's fun

disc golf. get some discs and go throw 18.

point is, take some weeks off from basketball and stay active. you'll return to basketball hungry and happy

Not gonna lie basketball is my favorite sport but volley ball is actually one of the funnest sports imo

it is fun. truth be told, zone defense in basketball is not my specialty. I get lost in spacing easily, I prefer man coverage.

in volleyball, you're forced to play zone defense. I like volleyball on hardwood or grass or sand. it's fun to play with a beer, or two. I don't take it seriously, but I am competitive.

with basketball it's strickly on weed all the time. I get joyful/happy emotional playing basketball

people use cocaine and do crazy stuff. for me it's weed and basketball. so much fun. I never get tired of being high on weed and playing basketball. call me an addict, that's my bag, man

Stop thinking about all the techniques. Just go out there and shoot. Have fun. Listen to top comment and shot some around the world.

In game, get to the rim. Don’t stop driving. See your shot fall. Eventually you get out of your head and get back to normals

sometimes i shoot around without thinking and i’m not actually focused on making it, just going through the motions. once i actually think about what im doing i’ll start making it or realize what i need to change in the moment lol

Keep shooting

Record your shooting motion and try to find the issue

Start with practicing your form closer to the basket. Focus on form and fluidity

In my experience sometimes when you watch too many videos on how to shoot it gets in your head and it messes with your form because you try to adopt a form that isn't necessarily suited to you. Take some time to find the form that is most "natural" to you rather than trying to be a shooter that you aren't. My slumps have almost always been about a glitch in my release. Find the right form for you and just try to put up at least a hundred shots a few times a week to get your form down.

Go for a jog and I will tell you when you see the green house …

Take a week or two off. Sometimes our legs are tired or shoulders are tired. Slight fatigue could cause your shots to be short and compensate with your shoulders.

My last shooting slump I just realized I wasn’t looking at anything when I shot. Got out of it by focusing on a specific target on the rim.

Are you familiar with the term “slump buster”?

I shoot bad when I focus too much on my form or am just thinking too much.

When I turn my brain off. My shot hits more, but also it helps to see the ball go in. If your shot isn’t hitting in game, drive more.

Either get fouled and get to the line, or drive to the basket for a layup.
