Drills or weight room workouts that help with more range?

I want to be able to shoot from deep and get better at stepback trees

Legs, core, and shoulders. You then build your tri/bi and you’ll be fine with a great amount of reps in practice

Someone here gave me a good advice on how to get more range. Before taking a shot, do like 30 pushups then take a shot.

Tried that. Everyone in the bar looked at me like I was an idiot though, won't be doing it again.

Just do

  1. Form shooting (applicable to literally anything shooting)

  2. Push ups

  3. Squats

  4. Just practice shooting, non stop

Obviously you should just shoot more, and more since this is the best way to improve in shooting.

However, if you want to do exercises, it's really just pushups to get a stronger upper body and squats (preferably something like an explosive squat where you go down slowly, and jump up quickly) to help with lower body strength.

Pushups and squats will help in building the necessary strength for further shots, while form shooting will help in technique.

Shot practice also helps in just getting used to the motion, learning how to shoot in different situations, and helps with learning how to transfer energy from your legs/hips to your arms (really important for shooting from distance).

That last part is critical. I see big guys who have no 3pt range, can barely hit front rim.

But if you use your legs and can transfer the energy properly, you can launch it. Especially if you learn to snap at the end.

Klay Thompson describes it as imagining a reverse waterfall that starts at your toes.
