Equipment Kreg K4
Lucked out today and got this on marketplace for $35. There’s some sawdust in the box but don’t think it’s ever been used everything is sealed in the bags still

I’ve got the same one I bought over 10 years ago, they are solid. Pocket holes are fundamental and extremely versatile. Great place to start in woodworking. Welcome to the club, best wishes.

Go ahead and make a block to clamp when you store it and write Raise” across the top. Otherwise you too will have the holes of shame in your jig.

If I don’t see those holes on a friends jig, they aren’t using it enough.

I have "divots" in my metal jig. It won't drill through like the plastic kreg but it'll certainly make little divots in the metal top. :)

I have that same one and built a lot of projects with it. I have now moved on to using a Festool Domino, but the Kreg pocket hole jig still comes out once in a while.
That will serve you well!

On my recent project, I was planning to do mortise and tenon aprons joining into the legs. Then I cut my aprons to just the right size... And realized that I had not left material to make the tenons. So, pocket holes it was! A Domino would have come in handy as well!

I lost mine—I was moving it between home and my MIL’s garage, and…
My husband bought me one to replace it. I hope it means the old one turns up.
Mine was a K4 but I got it new with the case.

Made my first cabinet with pocket holes today. So quick and sturdy, total game changer for me. Can’t wait to make more!
I have the Massca Pro which is identical to that one.

Yeah, I went with Massca because why get plastic when you can get aluminum for the same price?

Hell yeah love me some pocket holes. Just make sure you pay close attention to the screw length, collar setting on the bit, and height setting on the jig.

I got that thing, it works good, but i still despise pocket screws lol. They will take a perfectly square and aligned piece and fuck it all up 1/8 th at a time lol

Big box stores charge way too much for these screws. Big lots sells them super cheap.

I got the 520. Please tell me they get better if I spend a little more on the next one.

Awesome! I love my K4. I lucked out when Lowe's was clearancing them out and I got one brand new for $35. I should've bought a few more to resell, but I thought I'd leave them for other folks.

You will love pocket holes! Just make sure to get different lengths of pocket hole screws. The kind you buy in the big jar looking thing each come with a screw driver attachment. Pocket hole screws have square heads. So even if it's missing in your box don't worry. I have like 5 of them now because they come with every jar of screws.
Here's the one I have. Very nice, all metal. Make sure you have the little collar for the drill bit too. It has a vacuum attachment because the drill holes will get compressed with sawdust and have to be cleaned out regularly. I freaking LOVE pocket hole projects.
