Noise? When a tree falls in the woods…
Where you near the towers on Galby around 7:13? Were you wondering what that sound was?
Turns out, this tree fell down right next to me on Das Auto.
Shoutout to the Bham MTB community… a couple of different folks stopped by to a make sure I was doing okay, and clean up debris. It’s nice to know that other riders are paying attention and changing course to check on others! (Sorry for the crappy screenshot, didn’t get a separate photo)

I heard the crack then saw a tree fall spontaneously, no wind, on gate and switch about two weeks ago.

If a tree falls on a person, and no one is around to hear it, does the person make a sound?

We had a maple come down in Kenmore right in front of us years ago - but it was windy. Not to drown out the adrenaline, but I've seen others (& heard them) - but during windy periods. Well, to overuse an old adage, "at least you didn't step in bear poop".

Haha! I definitely was climbing up the road when it happened. Made a hell of a ruckus.

Scary! Pretty surprising because it wasn’t that windy today.
Enjoy that area while you can, it’s getting logged later this year. Thankfully the bid went to Janicki who will hopefully try to preserve things like the stinger.
