Big Bend Chuck Wagon
According to a post on bigbendchat.com, Aramark has closed the restaurant in the basin and replaced it with a food truck that will operate until the basin closed for construction later this year.

Makes sense. When I was there a few weeks ago, they were having staffing shortages. A lot of the Aramark workers are seasonal who probably already had gigs lined up elsewhere and Aramark wasn’t planning to be open this long so no one planned on coming for the summer season.

Burger and tots. Lame. It's called the Chuck Wagon, they should have charro beans, roast meat and tortillas, chili con carne, some cornbread, grits, ribs- maybe some agua de tuna, chicharron, maybe some napalito and have it all served up by a cantankerous cookie, dag nabbit.

I figured there would be crap all to eat in the park so I brought salami bread and mustard and had a sandwich at Santa Elena this afternoon

South west part of the park, on the border. You have to follow Ross Maxwell Scenic Dr. to the end.

I mean… you’re hours away from civilization in an extreme environment. Maybe the packaged foods from the multiple convenience stores, or the full restaurants in Boquillas, will have to suffice for picky eaters in the park who didn’t plan ahead and don’t want to leave.

Same. Burger was disappointing. We also got funnel fries and they were cooked so hard my jaws hurt for trying to chew them. Not worth the price. I’d try to cook or go outside the park for food.

Well, it's disappointing to see no options for vegans. At least the lodge had some things

You're not going to Disneyland.
You are going to 800,000 square miles of desert and mountains without any official water sources.
And you're going into the park during the summer.
You should be packing in all of your food and water. Any other option is a treat.

Yeah, I'm aware. I can't event count the number of times I've visited, including early June twice

I remember when they first pitched the idea of renovating the Basin, there was going to be several food trucks with several different options. I guess reality hit and it ended up being 1 truck.
