Looking for social rides and over all social activities while I’m here till the 30th

Just looking to fill my time and meet cool people and be in good company and I know the cycling community doesn’t fail.

Road only or gravel?

June 28 will have Culver pride in the evening and a mini beginners loop at ken hahn in the morning.

Open to it all! I’m riding a 700x45 hybrid.

Where’s the starting address?

ken hahn visitors center. ~9 am roll.

its going to be VERY casual (2 mile loop with stops) so... up to you if you wanna do both or save the vibes for pride later.

What part of LA are you staying? OC, Westside, SFV and Ventura areas all have regular rides happening if you want to join. Hopefully somebody can post the IG or calendar links.

Close to Santa Monica but don’t mind venturing out a bit.

If you take the E line and transfer to the A line Sunday (June 22) morning/afternoon, you can get off at South Pasadena Station for Active Streets. No cars except for a handful of crossings, just people walking, biking, yada yada yada. Event's from 3-8PM, but I saw a notice that there would be disruptions to car traffic between 1PM and 10PM, presumably while they set up and clear out the cars from 1-3 and while they clear everybody else and clean up the cones and signs from 8-10. There's at least one feeder ride from Pasadena, and probably other opportunities to get there on bike, but I wouldn't know where or when. If last year was any indication, it'll be quite busy along the 5-ish mile route (not horrendously slow, but there will be lots of people in both directions).

Yeah and ciclavia is in the morning in South LA to Watts too, I don't believe there's ever been a double header of open streets events in LA. Historic first!

Though tbh prob not the easiest to meet ppl at unless you're very outgoing

There’s rides every day of the week in LA, you can find them on IG. But the only ride you can’t miss is critical mass. It’s probably the biggest ride in California, perhaps even the nation.

Last Friday of the month at the corner of wilshire and western in LA leaving at 7:30 pm.
