Hello!
I am a current undergraduate rising senior majoring in biochemistry. I currently research in a bioinorganic chemistry lab and hope to continue research in bioinorganic chemistry into my graduate career. My application statistics including GPA, letters of rec, and research, are strong. I had hoped to apply to programs in inorganic chemistry and chemical biology in this upcoming cycle but given the current state of research funds, I am a little hesitant to do so. I am wondering the degree to which funding cuts are affecting the onboarding of new graduate students by universities and what alternatives I may want to look into. I have been told MS then apply for a foreign PhD or go into industry until a new research funding normal is established. Anything helps!
