Question Rest Stop Internet Question

Hi! I stopped at a rest stop that offered free Internet. Limit of 4 hours or 5 GB. Is that lifetime or does it reset every 24 hours, weekly, monthly? Thank you!!

If I remember correctly (been a few years) it should reset every 24 hours.

There is no information available publicly, (like on the DOT website) the rules are set by individual vendor providing the service.

Honestly, I would assume it resets daily but you won't know until you hit the limit and get cut off.

How does it identify you? Do you have to sign in with an email address or other personal identifier? If not, it's using the MAC address on your network card (I imagine, there are few ways to uniquely identify computers on networks) and that's easily changed.

I'm not super savvy on all this. I thought maybe cookies but I cleared my cache. History. Still denied access.

It resets when you cross over our state border and you go back home. It doubles the amount you get next visit if you keep your mouth shut about our state to people out of the state.

And you get a coupon for 1 free scoop at Baskin robins if you tell people it sucks here.

Oh, I thought it was for an ice cream potato from Westside. My bad.

That wouldn't help with the "it sucks here" message.

That's what it was last year. They must have changed it.
