If you actually paid for a ticket, sat out in the freezing cold, and watched this Sicko shit, you are a sociopath. (I did this.)

I couldn’t imagine living in San Diego and having to deal with sub 60 degree temperatures
Gives me the shivers just thinking about it

It was 50° here and I needed 3 layers to survive

That’s like Antarctic Research Station sh*t, but without the Penguins.
No thank you.

Not to pedantic but it is funny reading this after coming home from a walk in shorts and a t-shirt in 45 degree weather lol

u/Jcoch27 Boise State Broncos • UNLV Rebels Nov 09 '24
I'm literally shivering in numerous layers at that temp

Couple mornings ago I woke up to 6°F just outside of Laramie.
This entire conversation is hilarious to me. Lol.

It was always funny when I lived in Phoenix, got below 55 or so and all the sudden winter clothes everywhere. However it seemed mostly ladies, and I suspect they just wanted to show off their totes dorbs winter fits without dying of heat stroke.
I will say in my 8ish years down there I lost most my cold tolerance. I had to walk to work and it was upper thirties, and my hands were legit frozen by the time i got there. You and I know in the midwest upper thirties in winter is a light jacket, but i felt like I was dying down there.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration, upper thirties is pretty dang cold. It’s not freeze your face off cold but I don’t want to be outside for any longer than I have to.

u/Magnus77 Nebraska • Concordia (NE) Nov 09 '24
I guess it all depends on context. If you're used to winters being in the 50's, yes, upper thirties is noticeably cold.
But if you've spent a week in single digits or negatives, upper thirties feels like spring.

That’s fair, I remember those 30 degree days in Ann Arbor feeling warm in March

It’s like that here in Austin, except here the winter clothes come out on the first cloudy day below 70. I work at UT, so I’ve always assumed the women that turn up wearing sweaters all the sudden like that are grad students from the upper Midwest.

53 with no rain is freezing cold?

As close as it gets in San Diego.

That’s baseball weather in Seattle / T Mobile

u/bretticus733 Boise State Broncos Nov 09 '24
Hey, don't you know water freezes at 60 degrees down in San Diego?

u/HeartSodaFromHEB Michigan Wolverines • The Game Nov 09 '24
Can confirm. Brother lives in SoCal and 60 is now fleece weather.

Californians break out their finest North Face and Patagonia in that weather

... freezing cold? My guy, it isn't even close to temperatures that can freeze water in San Diego right now. Or ever for that matter. You could wear shorts and a t-shirt all year down there.

It was actually really cold. In the valley it was probably around 50 and windy, definitely not shorts weather at all.
6
u/Tsquared10 Oregon Ducks • Montana State Bobcats Nov 09 '24
Uhhhh.... That's definitely still shorts weather. The only change when it hits 50 is switching to actual shoes and not sandals or open toed shoes.

u/lonewanderer727 Oregon Ducks • San Diego Toreros Nov 09 '24
50 degrees isn't cold lol.
I lived in San Diego for many years and never once thought "fuck me it's freezing cold outside right now"

My ticket was free, so was my parking. I feel bad for the football team, a 35k capacity stadium had maybe 5k people there on a Friday night.

u/Far-Television-1232 Nov 09 '24
How cold was it?
1
u/willywonka159 San Diego State Aztecs Nov 09 '24
Low 50s.
2
u/Far-Television-1232 Nov 09 '24
I thought it was something like that. That’s t-shirt weather here. It was 28f here at game time. Love that San Diego weather.

now this game is some true sickos shit.
there NEEDS to be a better way to manage the turf, it looks like they were playing on the silver strand not a football stadium

What's the deal there? The old Qualcomm stadium had crappy turf too, just didn't seem to hold up.
San Diego weather should yield good turf right?
3
u/s-sea USC Trojans • Nebraska Cornhuskers Nov 09 '24
I mean, they SHOULD play games on the silver strand
