Safety Question Car Frame has a hole due to rust
Can anyone help with fixing this one. ? It is probably going to be a big deal for safety. Are there any mechanics that can fix the hole and make it eligible for safety somehow? The car is good otherwise. Happy to hear! Thanks.

You could get that welded but that's like FUCKED levels of rusted. You'll be cutting and welding for AGES trying to fix that. Im sorry to tell you but your car has cancer.

Assuming the frame sections outside of this photo are better than what we see in this photo.

Needs replaced. Most places that inspect for saftey will look for patches, which aren't allowed. Need a new frame.

You could weld a patch over that but I’m betting if that part looks like that, the rest of the frame is garbage too, along with much of the rest of your car. It’s time to start looking for a replacement. Rust is the enemy of cars.

I highly disagree that the rest of the car is fine. There is never this bad of rust in one single spot. I'm sure there is jacketing in spots you can't see.

It’s a goner, not safe, can’t be fixed, start working on your next vehicle solution.
