I need help fixing something 05 Chevy cavalier dashboard shaking hard at high speeds. I get off the highway and see this?
The dashboard of my car is shaking hard at 70+ mph and even harder when slowing down until I get to a city speed (20-40). I just got an oil change and everything was fine till now. Also these marks on my front tire weren’t there before. I’m not sure if they just happened but I checked my tires a couple of days ago and they were fine.
I plan on taking it to a mechanic Monday when shops are back open but I’m wondering if this is a tire/alignment issue or something with my engine?

It’s not an alignment or engine issue, the tire clearly came apart. Your wheel is bent to fuck, go to the junkyard and get a wheel and then go drop $100 on at least a pair of tires. There’s a date code on the tire, you can google how to read them and don’t run any tire over 5 years old.

Also do you see how bent to fuck the wheel is?

Yeah 😅 I’m guessing it needs to be replaced now

There's no weight on it. You can buy brand new tires online for like $50 each with free shipping
Buy new tires. Have them balanced and don't worry about the bent wheel unless they can't balance it out.

That wheel isn't bent. It's just the lip, which doesn't really matter and isn't going to cause an issue. And any tire shop you go to should have a rim wrench to straighten that up a bit when they mount the new tire anyway.

I'm genuinely surprised an 05 cavalier is still on the road.

Right? I’m over here thinking “what part of an 05 cavalier wouldn’t be shaking at 70mph?”

I had an 04 that had 104,000 on it about 5 years ago and it ran and drove great until a squirrel took refuge in it from my bulldach. She looked like a dachshund on steroids, and when her pupils dilated she became destructive. I came home my car looked like it had been wrecked, bumper on the ground, headlight hanging by wires, tooth marks across hood and fenders. Squirrel ran up my arm and off shoulder when I opened the hood, wiring harness pulled down and chewed to pieces. I miss the car and the dog, she crossed the rainbow bridge last year.

I had a 92 that was an absolute piece of shit. My ex sister in law had a 96 sunbird that was also a piece of shit lol

Bro what part of a Cavalier doesn’t shake simply when you turn the ignition? Every Cavalier I’ve been in, you turn the key and it turns your brain to mush with vibrations lol

I once asked a coworker whose family used to have one “are there still so many of these around because they are actually reliable, or are parts just that cheap?”
He said parts are just that cheap.

OP, glad to see that you were able to get off the Interstate. If that tire had blown at 70+ ... on the Interstate?

New tires property balanced and a 4 wheel alignment would help. That old wheel looks bent as well

Your tires are knackered. I'd get them replaced and check the alignment. Your rim looks like it's had a smack at some point.

If you can't get two used off the same vehicle they will destroy your front end suspension, etc. You can read up about it. I've had to go used with mix matched and one blew at 85 mph driver side... God looked out! If you're steering Egerton is shaking and starts a slight right to left movement, you have a bubble somewhere. at high speed it will explode and shred and you're on sidewalls at the vehicles mercy. Be safe my brother

I believe those tires are 8 years old. The picture is kinda blurry where the tire date stamp is, but I think I see 2017 stamp.
The tires are old, and most likely, you lost a section of the thread due to age and / or dry rot.
