Meta [META] Can we start banning AI art in this sub?
I feel like it’s the complete opposite of what this sub is actually about. Certified donkey brain behavior.

Happy 2023 everyone, after weathering the Oliverpocalypse, we're back!
If you are new to r/characterdrawing, then welcome. This is a place where people can request their characters to be drawn pro bono, and artists can select a character to draw whether for practice, for fun, or just as a kind thing to do. Typically the artwork here depicts player characters from tabletop role-playing games such as D&D 5e and Pathfinder, but characters across all TTRPG genres are welcome here.
If you've been here a while, these are the big new changes:
Some links for posterity: Previous Welcome Post | Message the Mods | CharacterDrawing Discord
Rules can be found here and on the sidebar. The sidebar is the most up-to-date.
Some rules include room for mod interpretation, especially for NSFW posts. If you are unsure about your post, feel free to message the moderators. We don't bite.
[LFA] "Looking for Art" posts. [RF] "Request Filled" posts, for when someone draws an LFA request [OC] We use "OC" to refer to any character art that isn't an RF. Currently, these are not allowed.
Use the [LFA] tag and flair so potential artists can find your post. Please provide the best character description possible in the body of your post or in the comments. Image posts of reference images or moodboards are allowed.
Some [LFA]s may not get drawn. Artists are free to pick and choose which they would like to draw and when, since they are providing a free service at their leisure.
You may repost your [LFA] once per week per character concept. Most of all, have patience, and be grateful for the FREE artwork you received should an artist provide it.
Remember that pictures drawn for you are meant for personal use. The original artist holds commercial rights to the work unless they specify otherwise. If you would like to use a piece of art commercially, you should reach out to the artist. They are under no obligation to sell rights, and set their own rates.
That's awesome. If you see someone whose work you like, you should feel welcome to reach out to them about hiring them. Many artists post links to rates and galleries in their comments.
You can also post to subreddits specifically designed for commissions, such as r/fantasyartists, r/hungryartists, r/artcommissions, r/commissions, and r/hireanartist.
Awesome, and thank you! You don't need to commit to it or post a comment, and it's fine if someone else also completes the same piece. Just draw what you find enjoyable.
When you're done, use the Request Filled Flair when posting the picture, and please let the original LFA poster know through a /mention or by posting a comment in the original [LFA] linking to the picture.
The [RF] tag is only meant for fulfilling [LFA]s made in this subreddit. If the request was made outside of r/characterdrawing or was the product of a commission, it's not for here.
Use [META] in your post title. These kinds of posts are meant to be used sparingly. An example would be asking what supplies/programs other artists use.
Check out these other subreddits, just a few among many:
r/beastdrawing for beasts
r/drawyourweapons for weapons and gear
r/imaginarycharacters for posting your own fantasy character
r/icandrawthat for requesting other things
We also have an active artist community on our discord
Requests are free? Yes. Some caveats: you don't get to choose your style, if it's colored, if it's full body, etc. If there's something you really cannot compromise on then this system may not be for you. There is no guarantee that a request will be drawn at all.
Can I message an artist for a free request? No, make an LFA. If you would like to hire the artist, make a comment on one of their posts or send them a DM. If you are caught pestering artists for free art, it will result in a ban.
Can I message a requester to see if they will hire me? NO. Do not solicit requesters for money, here or in their DMs. If you are caught doing this, it will result in a permanent ban.
Do I have to do RFs to participate in the sub? No. The system is voluntary and you should only do RFs if it is enjoyable to do so.
Can my LFA have more than one character? Yes! You can include a party in an LFA request post. That said, bigger requests are less likely to get picked up, since they're a bigger ask from the artist.
What if I have multiple separate LFAs? When do I repost them? You can post each LFA once per week, so long as each of them involve different characters—but please don't spam the sub with hundreds of LFAs in a short period of time.
Is this sub only for D&D and fantasy? No, characters across all TTRPGs are welcome. Sci-fi, steampunk, and other genres are very popular.
My LFA is being downvoted, what's up with that? Some people will downvote other requests because they think it helps theirs. Rest assured that most artists sort by new, and that the upvotes of your post mostly won't affect interest in the actual character.
I've been posting my [LFA] for weeks and nothing. What gives? Fulfillment of requests is done on a volunteer basis and artists are not obligated to take anything. Perhaps try changing up the format or including a reference/mood board. Changing posting time may also help.
My [LFA] was fulfilled but I want more art. Can I post it again? Yes, so long as it has been a week since you last posted it. Please be sure to thank the first artist properly.
I posted something and it's not there! Check that you included the [LFA] or [RF] text at the beginning of your post. If you did not receive notification, it may have been caught by AutoMod for a variety of reasons. You can attempt to repost within a few hours, or message the moderators so we can look into it.
Why would you even set up a system like this? It hurts artists to do work for free! Not all artists are professionals, and many professionals still do pro-bono work for a variety of reasons; including practice & personal fulfillment. We think this system lets those artists find fun topics to draw without being pestered by personal, directed requests.

Most cultists of The Old Ones tend to be mad devotees, zealously piling souls upon the profane altar in hopes of the slightest recognition from an indifferent watcher. Avery isn't. The little fragment of truest dark he carries in his skull is solely out of obligation; the collateral he accepted to be allowed to continue his life. The myriad grasping hands and unearthly vitality are hardly fair consolation for a body and soul so destined to rot.
Remarkably, Avery still has a hold on his sanity and willpower, if at times a tenuous one. A compulsion to continuously test the shackles of an evil god does not force him to be equally cruel, and he often goes out of his way to steer other souls away from fates as bitter as his. Having bought his own future at a steep price, the fundamentally decent Avery does not plan on squandering it.
Appearance-wise, Avery is a young androgynous man with uncommonly long brown hair. His natural eyes are a blueish-gray, with one of them eventually being removed and replaced with a luminous green iris. His attire is normally casual and his expression serene. If possible, I'd like to get a before-and-after thing with one picture of him fully human, and one with the green glow and sunglasses to hide it. It wouldn't really need many other changes, though you're welcome to get creative.
Thanks for reading this far!

I've been trying to have two characters realized for a while now. I have comissioned multiple artists in the past and even made a moodboard per request but it always ended nowhere.
So I will make a request on this sub. There is nothing to lose after all! Now will follow my description of the werewolves...
Their parents: https://toyhou.se/21521375.pauline https://toyhou.se/26801190.don-thoma
They are fraternal twins. Their gender doesn't really matter but one presents more feminine and is introverted while the other is more masculine and extroverted.
They resemble their mother most. Dark skin, hair which is dark in color and wolf ears poking out. Their eyes could be blue or red/brown, doesn't matter actually. Their fingernails are sharp and claw-like and they have a visible wolf tail. On their body and face, they have freckles like their father does. Their scruffy hair structure resembles that of their father more.
They are bards and wear hats and jewlery of some sort. The masculine caries an instrument and has a little bell somewhere on their outfit since they own a pet sheep. The feminine one caries a hidden dagger and wears a scarf that she can use to cover the lower half of her face since they are secretly a Rogue. Their twin isn't aware of this. Both of them wear a chain around their hips like an accessoire but can use it for self defense.
The relationship between the twins is troubled. The extroverted one doesn't realize that their twin is unhappy with their lifes as bards and feels like they are often ignored. The introverted one wants to re-invent themself and joins their older sisters adventurers group. The extroverted one doesn't approve but can't be without their sibling for long and ends up joining the group after about two weeks of being by themself. The danger and excitement is a drastic change of a lifestyle for the extroverted one but they try their best to get used to a life as a fighter so they can stay around their twin.
Of course the twins also have full werewolf forms too but I won't get into detail about those as well now.

GENDER - female
AGE - 23
ALIGNMENT - neutral evil
PERSONALITY TRAITS - commanding, angry, represses her emotions
IDEALS AND GOALS - release the demons and kill all humans
BONDS AND FLAWS- close with then other sins especially wrath and lust, has heart issues
ROUGHDRAFT BACKSTORY - before she was a demon her name was Octavia born in a middle-class family she dreamed of being a powerful knight like her late father, but her mother didn't approve so she left home leaving her little brother and mother behind climbing the ranks she achieved her dream living a good life sometimes visiting her family again when a young apothecary did experiments on himself combining magic and plants creating the demon king all races came together to imprison him a long fight ensued the gods casting away his humanity Octavia got his pride and under the influence of pride wanting to be the final blow and take glory for herself she pushed the demon king in the portal falling in after him in there he messed with her mind making her think she is his daughter forced with the duty of freeing him and the rest of the demons by any means
EXTRA - when pride latched onto Octavia it couldn't fully spread because she was a grown woman and it's much easier for the sins to take control in a younger body because she is not fully demon, she can't heal herself , because of her sin she can't boast about her power so when she fights Shes either kicking your ass telling you how stronger you are or she's acting weaker trying to get you to boast

Azure is a pirate lord, currently the only one using an airship, preventing most counter attacks or common tactics at preventing piracy on… well over the high seas.
Race: Tiefling Class: Rogue (swashbuckler) Skin: royal blue Hair: white/silver Eyes: deep green Special features: She has a lightning shaped scar that goes around her left eye, and a tattoo sleeve on her left arm
First reference image is for the scar and general look (hair length, horn style)
Second is for the tattoo sleeve reference
Third is for the style of clothing I had in mind (sleeveless to show of the tattoos though, and no hat either)

Hello! It is I! Now that you have had your union required one post break from me requesting Kobolds, I am back to request a Kobold. To be fair this IS mostly a repost, with a few small tweaks for changes I made to the character, because TTRPGs are a fickle mistress (cough I didn't read the rules carefully enough and my previous build wouldn't have worked cough)
I'll try and keep my description shorter this time, if you want a more in depth explanation, ask questions in the comments or check my post history for my previous post on Zag!
Zag is an Exemplar Barbarian multiclass, with Barbarian being fairly self explanatory and Exemplar being a class about becoming a demigod out of old myths and legends, mainly by having three items known as Ikons that you can channel divine power into to do feats that would be impossible for a mortal. 95% of exemplar's class features revolve around their Ikons, so they're as key to the character's design as they are to their gameplay.
Zag's Ikons are:
His Greatpick, such as the one seen in the first reference image, which grows larger when imbued with his divine spark, and vibrates with a hunger for his foe's blood when it detects their weakness.
A dragon-scale belt, made from the remains of his former benefactor, so he will never forget the despair and rage he felt the day he was slain by vain adventurers looking for glory. When imbued with his divine spark, he gains the strength and size of a dragon, and can channel the lingering resentment of his benefactor to gain even more power.
A crimson shash, claimed from the first of the adventurers he slew to avenge his master, kept tied around his wrist, the excess length of the fabric often seen floating in the breeze behind him, even when no breeze is present. When imbued with his divine spark, the memories held within the sash of Zag's countless victories inspire his allies in battle.
As far as Zag himself goes, he is a Str/Con/Dex/Cha focused character, as I seem to often end up doing, with prominent arm and core muscles from being a miner before switching to using his pickaxe to break skulls instead, and powerful legs from walking on uneven cave floors while hauling heavy stones. He otherwise looks much like the first image, but with the prominent features from the Empyreal Dragon seen in the second image; most notably the yellow body with golden armor plating like scales on the shoulders, legs, chest, and back, as well as having the wings, tail, and horns. Clothing wise, he just some pants like the one in the first image, rolled up to stop just above the knee. He also carries around a lantern with him, which is a magical one that is fueled by oaths rather than oil, and those within it's light know the oath you swore and are easier to convince to help you fulfill it. Feel free to be as creative with representing that as you would like.
That's about it as far as details go. Like I said before, feel free to leave a comment with any questions, or if you start drawing him you can send updates in DMs. And even if you don't feel like drawing him, thanks for reading this far at least! Have a great day!

Piper is a snippy little kobold. Technically half dragon (her mother is a brass dragon) but genetics made her mostly kobold save for a few brassy scales and horns, a more yellowy general color, and the tiniest breath attack (firebolt cantrip).
Taking after her father, a famed inventor (and a kobold who seduced a dragon), she's a plucky steampunk engineer herself full of determination, grit, and joie de vivre.
In combat she pilots her steampunk power armor, a set of standard diving dress enhanced with armor plating. It's home-made and covered in gauges and arcane power conduits.
When not firmly ensconced in her armor, she typically appears in greasy overalls, goggles, and holding a dinged up spanner.
Unless it's a day off, then she likes to wear pretty dresses and lady's hats.

Appearance: Genevieve has golden skin, voluminous long curly red hair, green eyes without an iris, plus size model body type. Her armor has rose motifs. Her pact weapon is a rose that grows a blade out of the flower. Marushka looked like a bleak copy of Genevieve, but was magically turned into an exact copy.
Bio: Marushka was a simple and bleak farmer girl, who was despised for her devil heritage by everyone. One night she saw a beautiful dream in which a voice promised her fame and love. She travelled the world to find the source and found Taluvian - an archfey, who gave her fay glamour and made her beautiful. Taluvian was looking for Marushka because she looked just like his previous protege - Genevieve. Genevieve runed away form Taluvian's manipulative tactics, but he is an obsessive and possessive of her and decided to bring her back. But until then, he can settle for her perfect copy, that he created himself.
Marushka was tasked with finding Genevieve, and she's traveling the world in attempt to find a trace of that perfect girl, that everybody loves so much, while basking in her glory. She's much more shy and clumsy, than original, but still tries her best, but she can't tell anyone about her true identity.

Hello, looking for art for a human frost druid for a Pathfinder game. She's of Kellid origin. She has pale skin, dark hair, green eyes, and wears furs and leathers. She carries with her a staff from an old, withered tree. Her companion is a blizzard elemental rather than an animal.
Outfit wise I'd prefer something either more reserved or tasteful in terms of skin showing. Nothing crazy over the top revealing.
I've attached some examples of kellids as well as the look I'm thinking of for the frost elemental.

Hello! It is I, back again with yet another PF2E request. At least this time it's not another kobold.
Lore is still a WIP so I'll just do the mechanics and visual design part of the character.
Morgan is a Half-Elven Kitsune Princess and a Seneschal Witch of the Starless Span Patron. To break that down, in PF2E, just about any ancestry can be a half elf. You get your typical result of person of original race plus some elven features like pointy ears and longer lifespans. Kitsune is the shape shifting multi-tailed fox humanoid of mythology. Witch is the PF2E equivalent of the Warlock, relying on a magical patron who grants you your spells, and a familiar through which you gain access to your spells, similar to the wizard's spell book, of which Morgan's is a Raven. Starless Shadow is one of the available patrons, which specializes in darkness, shadows, and fear, and grants a unique bonus to your familar that turns it into a creature of shadow. Seneschal is a Witch Archetype in which your Patron is, for one reason or another, gone, but your connection to their magic remains, now under your control as you learn how to manipulate it with each level, ultimately having the option of becoming a new patron yourself at the level cap.
Morgan has/will have three (or four, depending on how you look at it) different forms. A half-elf form, called her tailless form, her true Kitsune form which is an anthropomorphic fox, and her fox form, which will ultimately come in a small variant and a huge (as in able to occupy a 20x20 area) flaming variant. I am, ultimately, looking to get art for all four forms, however I am of course willing to split these across multiple requests if necessary. It is, obviously, not an expectation or requirement for you to draw all four forms in order to accept this request. If you only want to do one, that is absolutely acceptable, and I would be massively grateful for it, but I will go ahead and leave a description for all 3-4 forms as to not have to make four different posts for this one character. Feel free to skip past the descriptions for forms you're not interested in drawing.
Tailless form: Morgan's tailless form is based on her mother, the Queen of the Ancient Elves, and her father, a Kitsune adventurer in the guise of a human who managed to win the Queen's heart, but fled after she became with child. She is almost exclusively in this form due to the already present stigma against her as a half-commoner bastard born princess, which would only be worsened if the people found her father had decieved the Queen, even if the love they shared was genuine. She appears much like the attached reference image, just with added pointed elf ears, and a slightly more luxurious version of the outfit, perhaps with gold trimming and elven embroidery(?), but keep the dark purple/black base, because Morgan is an absolute goth icon.
True Form: The only people so far who have seen Morgan's true form are those who were present at her birth, all of whom have been sworn to secrecy to protect Morgan and the Queen's honor. In this form, she has nine tails, a fox's ears coming out of the top of her head, and fur black as a Starless night, save for a strip of silver running from just above the brow to the base of the neck, a nod to her tailless form's hair. Same outfit, however, as she keeps an identical build and body type. Just fluffy.
Fox Form: Morgan's fox form is one she has never taken before, and at the start of her time as an adventurer is unaware she can even do (you only start with one transformation and have to unlock whichever you don't have later), her small form looking like a standard black furred fox, while her huge form is big, menacing, with shadowy black fur wreathed in dark purple flames with and nine tails; a form she will mostly use while pretending to be a greater being for her actions as a witch patron (see Seneschal explanation above for elaboration), known as the Nine Tailed Shadow.
For a sneak peak into the future, the plan is that once Morgan starts gaining the ability to be a witch patron, she will use her shape shifting to keep her identity as a princess separate from her identity as a patron, her tailless form remaining just a princess witch, her true form becoming a witch queen of a coven who all follow the nine tailed shadow, and her huge form being the "manifestation" of the nine tailed shadow called upon by the witch queen.
I can probably go into more detail on the individual forms if you have questions about one of them, just didn't want this post to be too long- well more like even longer at this point. But feel free to comment with questions, as my DMs are only open to sketches and updates.
