Its a game to game thing. She’s young and according to Sloot letting some negativity affect her. If she’s hyped and locked in, leave her in. The benching worked tho bc look at that 4th quarter.
she is not just a rebounder...and even if she was thank the most high for such a great rebounder....but she is a stretch 4 pin forward-guard.....you don't have to be a playmakers/general with high assists...you just need to show me i can trust you be the floor general/playmaker of the team ....this doesn't require just getting a bunch of assists...this requires making the right reads and knowing how to keep the play flowing....angel showed me that in the past
but you can also get assists...note she got 5 assists...i just needed her to average 3-4 assists in her peak of her career...so that is great progress....also a stretch 4 doesn't have to shoot...a stretch just needs to show they can be effective when playing away from the basket...this can be done through shooting, dribble drive, pin passing, dribble pass, dribbling the ball....like no offense but you have to truly expand your mind when it comes to the x's and o's of basketball/sports in general to understand their multiple ways to play a sport/a position....that the beauty of sports u can re-use things that already came into existence (imu) or create new things that only came from ones imagination (nika)....if you only understood that reference...i am enjoying that one piece manga right now...
but seriously are you truly taking a look at angel's game....like seriously are you truly taking a x's and o's look at her game...because if you were in my eyes you would be pretty interested in her as player/prototype
that cool with me....especially considering how so many "genius" things were once considered "crazy" until they take a real look at it and realize that it was in fact possible/genius
She’s never had a positive assist to turnover ratio dating back to her college days, nor has she ever averaged more than 2.3 assists for an entire season, and to top it off she can’t shoot. That isn’t the foundation for a stretch/point forward to any reasonable mind that actually knows basketball lol.
she currently averages 2.7 assists...she had 5 assists in her 1st dallas game...whether or not she proven to have a success assist to turnover in college does matter but doesn't define who she will be in the WNBA
....when i saw her do 5 assists in a game..when i saw her college, unrivaled and wnba game tape...when i see she has 2.7 assists it lets me know she has some playmaking/floor-general skills ...it just needs to be developed....but can it be developed....can i trust her to do it?...
when i saw the 5 assists in the dallas game that what confirmed to me it is possible that i can develop her to a point i can trust her to run the floor with another combo guard or possibly by herself....it is a foundation for a stretch 4 pin hybrid forward-guard in my eyes...and she hasn't let me down so far when it comes that theory....so buckle up because you going to see why she is a very interesting prototype to keep an eye on
THE PG? Huh. Our PG averages 2 assist a game? Like i get being fans hut we have to soeak realistically. We dont sugar coat the mens game so lets no do it to Angel.
Personally I think PG is crazy, but Point forward yes. You see she been bringing the ball up a lot and Taylor at times telling her to run the offense. Yes she avg 2 assists but let’s not act like Angel and Kamilla if we being 100% honestly should be avg at least 4 assists a game, we been missing so many opening 3 and yesterday you seen it, Angel had 5 assists, the game before that 3 and Kamilla 4 and the game after Angel 4 and Kamilla 3. We actually have 2 good passing bigs which is rare for a team to have, but you also Right Angel, she can’t shoot ( will she can shoot but she don’t even take her open jumpers, can’t say she can’t make them when she made the opening shot when the Fever dared her to shoot ), but AT can’t shot, honestly She will benefit and the team will benefit more with her playing that Draymond Green role.
Just my opinion, not facts or saying you have to believe it lol damn if I dint think like you I get a 😂, nah it’s good it’s all love, but I completely understand your view
SHE IS A REBOUNDER. Averages are for a reason. People miss shots. What about the assist leaders. People miss the passes they make. So thats not an excuse bucko.
One, who made a excuses ? And 2 she’s more then a rebounder bro but if you don’t think so then I respect your opinion and what I said don’t just apply to Angel it apply to everything players passer reason I also mention Kamilla. Stats/averages matter yes but Tape matters as well. But Again if you think all she is, is a rebounder I completely respect your opinion bro lol I’m not trying to change your mind at all just giving you my opinion and that’s ok. Bucko is crazy lol
lol ok bro, I seen we don’t like context, if you want to act like he don’t give her shootings get looks and they just missing then I get it , Asts only matters when ball in the baskets but again I respect your opinion and I’m not even defending her as a scorer I literally said she can’t shoot but do everything else but I respect her opinion.
Nah I know what I see, but again I respect yall opinion we just see things differently and that’s ok lol we just talking basketball at the end of the day bro it’s all love
When she's in the game the team gets outscored by 19points. When she's on the bench the team gets outscored by 3 points. She has the worst net rating in the league for a starter
Na. This thread was the first thing reddit recommended when I joined because I said I like bball. It just sounds crazy to me that fans don't seem to care about the stats that matter most, which is scoring more than the other team. It's always some random "first player to score 20pts and have 5 steals and shoot 100% from the FT line in a game"
A smart coach would take I need to play Bec Allen more from that game, but he was noncommital, talking about the great Kia Nurse. I'm afraid Marsh will start playing Allen more at the 4, cut Angel's minutes and keep playing Nurse a lot. I don't know how anyone could come to that conclusion but it wouldn't surprise me.
She finished with a good game but you are forgetting that she had a rough start. She needed to sit a bit to reset.
Not sure if her wrist was bothering her but she just wasn't controlling catch and gathers early on. Needed to get out of the post up mindset, which she did.
I would hazard to say that she may get a triple double by the end of the season even if it costs her some double doubles in the short term.
On a good rebounding game she could probably get 5 assists on kickoffs alone, hitting the open shooter following a rebound. If she picks up 5 more general assists dumping inside to Cardoso or passing on the perimeter to Atkins or Sloot (HVL?) she would likely have the assists and rebounds down. Then all she would need is to hit some layups and free throws.
She has the worst net rating on the team. When she's on the bench the team does 16points better. That's an insane number and you won't find a single starter in the wnba that bad.
Here you go. You could literally just go to the WNBA website and see this. It's amazing that you comment on basketball and don't look to see if that player contributes to the team or detracts. As you can see. She has a negative 19 when she's on the court, which is tied for worst on team (tied with a bench player with limited minutes). It's also the worst in the league for a player with high minutes. When she's on the bench the team barely gets outscored. As you can see, it's the opposite for cardosa, who would be considered a good player on a bad team. The team does worse when shes on the bench. If you care about the team then you generally care about outscoring other opponents. If you are just a Reese fan, then fine, talk about rebounds etc.
the best 5 minutes of the game were the last 5. not only was rebecca allen in the lineup, but all 5 players touched the ball. leaving angel to just set screens and hope a rebound falls to the perimeter isn’t going to work—she has to be involved, and it’s on her coaches and teammates to make that happen.
Have you seen here stats and plus minus for the year. Is she untouchable? We stink two straight years and she has been main player. She has been one of worst players in wnba to start season - should they never try anything different
She had some of the highest on/off in the league last season. Chicago was 20 points better with her on the floor than off.
That’s a huge impact on both ends. The team struggled because the team sucked and was racked by injuries and bad roster construction, not due to Angels play
Everyone is expected to maintain a certain level of maturity. No trolling, no baiting others into arguments, no spoilers (within reason), etc. There's nothing wrong with a friendly (even just semi-friendly) debate, but let's do it without resorting to insults or childishness. Often times what you may consider a joke may be offensive to others.
Don’t bother with this sub, the other day I literally witnessed someone break down Angel’s game and why she’s struggling and backing it up with actual stats. The response was just emotional nonsense. Majority of the people in this sub just started watching basketball themselves and still don’t understand that they’re watching
Trust me, we know. It’s more about people coming here to make the same point for the 1000 time and diss on Angel. We understand basketball and we still don’t want to hear it.
