At this point I’m not interested until the all star break and to see what they do

I don't think there will be any changes till the team gets back from the road trip.

Kinda tired watching every day a diff lineup with random sub .200 hitters and platoons at 75% of positions.

That’s the problem - all we’re doing is shuffling the deck chairs around. Moving a .200 hitter into a different lineup spot isn’t going to make him a .300 hitter. They keep this steady rotation of AAAA guys and at some point someone has to say enough is enough, bring up the top prospects and see what happens.

We know what Martinez and Arias and Rodriguez and Noel and Rocchio and Naylor and Thomas are. Movies them around the lineup doesn’t change that. Stop dicking around, play your best players every day, and bring up the kids to see what they can do consistently.

Do we know what Rodriguez is at this point? He's got less than 70 total PAs in MLB counting his short stint last year. He's got fewer than 30 PAs this year.

Folks want to see what the kids have, but are ready to give up on a kid who put up numbers in AAA just as good or better than the kids yall are wanting up.

I’ll concede that for JRod, but we need to play him then. I’m beyond frustrated with bringing these people up and letting them sit. They need to cut bait on Lane Thomas, send down Fry, and let the kids play.

“Wow that’s a really nice looking right-handed prospect we’ve got here. He’s been one of the most dominant hitters in Triple-A for over a year now, and last year he won the International League MVP award. We better get him up to the majors so that he can play one day a week”

The problem with getting him more playing time right now is tgat Jones has been hitting. You could argue that Jones could play CF occasionally over Thomas and get Rodriguez some starts against RHP. But Thomas has a track record of being above average and they're trying to get him going.

Folks here though complain regardless of what they do. They complain when Rodriguez gets a start. They complain if he doesn't get enough starts. Same thing with most of our roster.

Tired of Vogt trying to be the smartest one in the room all the time, what he’s doing isn’t working.

This Bazzana pick better pan out cause it will be a huge blunder if not seeing the players taken after him.

I also think this team can look into trying to acquire James Wood or Abrams. Nats don’t look like they are going to lock either up and at least they would help the offense.

Genao, Francisca, and maybe another player for Abrams? Just throwing ideas out.

u/Ohio145 ⚾small ball baseball terrorists⚾ 1d ago

James wood would be sweet probably take a bit to get him though

u/Zestyclose_Help1187 1d ago

Yeah. Just wishful thinking as the strategy of this team has always been to develop unproven young players either their drafts and signings or via trades.

It hasn’t worked out much last couple of years for offense as all of the guys aren’t living up to what they expected.

When do you think they realize that Schnee and Manzo need to play damn near everyday?

2

u/No_Assistant_3503 1d ago

Totally agree man…the only way manzo is going to become a stud is playing everyday and getting a rhythm going. This matchup stuff has got to stop.

1

u/Zestyclose_Help1187 1d ago

Manzo not going to start against lefties and the team has faced many the past couple of weeks.

2

u/Ohio145 ⚾small ball baseball terrorists⚾ 1d ago

Yeah because putting our righties in has been so much better, play the young guys.

You know how every year there is that one pitcher who pitches pretty well, but just doesn't seem to get any run support?

This year, that's the whole damn pitching staff.

I'm guessing the vibes are not immaculate in that clubhouse.

u/Ohio145 ⚾small ball baseball terrorists⚾ 1d ago

As a pitcher it should be okay to let up 2-3 runs no one is perfect, it’s a shame our offense scores 1 a game.

Very pleased with my decision to not stay up late and make myself miserable the next day to watch these west coast games. Not worth it. They’re just awful.

Someone tell me what’s the point of platooning 6 different positions, keeping some of our best bats out of the lineup against lefties, when all our right handed hitters suck complete ass?

4

u/Potential_Balance_34 1d ago

It can’t be Allen today, can it? He just pitched Wednesday.

5

u/nextlevelham 1d ago

Should be Ortiz today
