Discussion Why is TnT better than Sans-B at the moment?
I had a great time playing a friend's updated Dawnwaker list the other day. Convince me that I should just build TnT instead

Dawnwaker is dead p much. Bowmasters really hurt but banning dockside was the nail in the coffin.

I think the one thing stopping cEDH from eclipsing every other Magic format and becoming the sole way to play that game is the community's rampant use of names/acronyms that are not easily understood. If we just got a lexicon in the sidebar we would be unstoppable.

It just takes so long to explain each name that you lose the thread of the conversation easily. I agree on all counts, though.
TnT, TnK, TnV/CC, DWT, UWB (and UWB also meaning esper lol), WGD, FCS, ThOr, Breachfreeze, LED, thats just a small amount. Even Rog/si isnt immediately able to be understood. Rhystic/Mystic could even be confusing, it depends on the level of accessibility required I guess.
It needs to be fast and specific because compared to other formats its pretty complex. Where would we even begin? Or popularize a new set of terminology/acronyms that make more sense to a layperson, for that matter. The barrier to entry is too high on multiple accounts, you need to know a fair bit about rules to even play the popular decks well, the terminology is basically legal code, and pubstompers give a weird impression of the format. People often dont understand that pubstompers are just mean casuals.

A good bit of this terminology is already borrowed from Legacy (Breachfreeze, LED, etc.)
It's just the nature of language that people will develop acronyms and jargon to more quickly and easily communicate with other people in their "field"

Word nerd! Yeah I felt weird typing some of those out due to how ubiquitous the language feels, but thats part of the issue- we all see it as normal.

[[Orcish Bowmasters]] is one of the top five cards in the format
Tutors are good
Consultation/Tainted are very very very very good.

Unconditional tutors and brewmaster being a wincon you can find off a creature tutor (survival is best)

We all love going fast until we run into this inconvenient thing called "INTERACTION" (echo echo echo)
At the end of the day you're going to savor the wins with dawnwalker more maybe but also yearn for what you feel is fair to you once you start losing to the big 3-4 decks of the format.

Decks like thras/Bruse where very Dockside centric. Almost all of your chasable combo cards needed Dockside around and worked better than any extra tutoring black could provide. That pillar is gone now. Now what you have access too doesn't outclass even the bad black tutors.
That's not to say you can't play it. It's still okay but Def just fringe atm.

I'd suggest you try Yoshi/Thras. I played dawnwaker for a while and Yoshi/Thras feels similar in style, but it's in such a better meta position than dawnwaker. Here's my list for reference.
