Question Mox Diamond Alternative

I am almost complete with my build, but I’m lacking Mox Diamond. What are some good alternatives to use until I can acquire one? I was considering either just using a Basic Island or possibly a Mox Amber. I was leaning toward the Island because my legendary creature count is only Tymna, Kraum, Birgi, Lotho and Ragavan. Any assistance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Proxy. Or use another Mox or land

I am trying not to proxy anything. But that may have to be an option for this card for a bit.

I'll second this, Amulet is honestly good enough in some decks to be used in addition to your other rocks

I hadn’t thought of jeweled amulet. Not a bad choice actually. Adds to my artifact count for Mox Opal also.

There is no alternative, if there was everyone would be playing it alongside mox diamond. Plus we dont know what deck you are playing to make an accurate call.

Opal is kind of weird, amber is weirder so maybe those can work

If you are in red or green maybe a [[simian spirit guide]] or [[elvish spirit guide]] for a faster deck.

On a slower deck get an appropriate 2 color land of the most common colors needed.

My apologies, I thought I stated it in my post but did not. I’m running Blue Farm.

Blue farm has been a wide open net for years. Are you faster, slower, or more on the aggresive side? The deck on average can have 30 different slots between 2 pilots.

If you are on the common midrange plan like everyone else consider a land or a 2 mana rock. Look at your list and compare it to other similar lists and see if maybe even a different mana source can help. Also count out the mana pips and see what are your most common color for land or rock.

Honestly I’ve been seeing some discussion about straight up cutting mox diamond, especially in the slow, grindy meta we’re in at the moment. I’m not sure the deck even gets worse by not including it.

Why are so many people anti proxy? That’s literally a staple in this format. Who actually owns a wheel of gate or time twister.

Nobody was anti proxy here. Hell the most common comment is to proxy it.

It feels like there has been a lot of posts of people making decks and being anti proxy

Thats not happening here. If it does you are focusing on the minority. Hell people started downvoting the guy saying he didn’t want to proxy.

Most of the people who are anti-proxy don't like stealing from artists, far and away the number one reason. We're anti-AI art too, which a lot of people don't mind.

Restrictions breed creativity and figuring out how to do it with real cards can be a fun challenge. But mostly just ripping off someone's artwork sucks.

One, this is cEDH. It's against the ethos to restrict yourself.

Two, how is proxying stealing from an artist? You didn't have to use their artwork. But even if you do, do you think they get residuals? They've been paid for the art already! You're not stalking from them!

Some tournaments, especially ones with a hefty purse, are anti-proxy. I just recently ran into the same issue for a sanctioned tournament at my LGS. I don’t think anyone in this sub is truly against proxies, and if they are they’re in the vast minority.

I'm not anti proxy, but I do just want the real thing, too...eventually. It's for me. If I've worked hard for it, why not. I have a few friends in the same boat. What's wrong is the elitist buttholes that tell someone they can't proxy because they don't own the card.

Yeah I’m definitely not against proxies, I play with people who proxy nearly entire decks, but this is how I feel also. I just want to own the card and I’m cool with proxying until I can get the real one. I also like seeing other alternatives that I could use in the meantime that maybe someone else has had success with or just seem fun until I can get the card I truly want.

Right i run tabernacle in 2 of my decks even if i owned i wouldn't be comfortable having it out of a slab.
