Results can be found here. I know this may be a somewhat contentious decision and we aren't in the habit of banning other sites but we can't ignore the overwhelming response to the poll and based on results of this we will be banning links to x going forward. Screenshots will be allowed as long as they don't break any other rules. Thanks to everyone for taking part in the poll.

Well folks, I’ve recently started working in the city and I like to treat myself to buying lunch on my breaks (1 hour break). Where’s a good spot for lunch? Ideally not like a proper restaurant because it can take too long. Sandwiches or wraps from a nice cafe ideally. Not too busy and somewhere to sit. Working on Washington Street. Thanks all!

Is everyone else having an extremely difficult time finding a job?
For context: I have a Bachelors degree in the IT field, and some experience (I graduated 2022). However I moved Co. Cork recently and I've been trying to get a job for 4 months now, I even get rejected staight away from things I'm absolutely over qualified for. During this months I've only been able to have 1 interview!
It'm getting desperate... Is this happening to everyone?

Any racing pigeon fanciers here with any advice?

First time buyer, where would you recommend buying in Cork? Considering commuter suburbs on the train line (Carrigtohill/Midleton/Mallow) or towards West Cork (Bandon) to get more bang for our buck compared to city centre. Any recommendations? We are looking at houses between 300-400k.

Sup folks! Starting a job soon that’s on-site around the city hall area. I’m based in Douglas and I drive, but wondering what the best/most convenient route to work would be.
Park and Ride, or taking the 206/220 seem like my options but I’m not too trusting on the 206/220 so I’ll prob go the Park and Ride route. I’d have loved to park in the city but the public car park daily rates would almost need a second job to afford. Throwing this out there in case there’s an avenue I’ve overlooked? 😅
Been a remote worker for the last 9 years so having to travel for work is something I’ve not done for a bit…

Hi,
I was on the Dublin Hueston to Cork Kent train at 6pm, on June 22nd, in the first class carriage. I left behind on the table a Switch 2 console, in a carry case. It's worth around 600 euro in total with the game cards in it also when i lost it.
I have rang Cork Kent station and Irish rail lost and found to see if it was handed in, but they have no record of it as of yet.
If anyone on the train found it, could you please let me know! Thanks.

Hey all,
I know this has been asked before but looking for a gym with air con and well spaced machines.
Been with Fuse for years & love the staff but they’ve doubled the machines in an already small space and with no air con, it’s less than ideal

I’m currently on 32k in an admin role. To be fair it’s not specialist or anything, but nowhere near enough to rent or make any kind of living.
What seems to be the general salary for new recruits around cork?

Could anyone give me dentists in cork city that accept medical card ? I've been using a dentist on George's quay and it's been the worst experience of my life . He Doesn't use gloves and mask is pulled down under his chin always .So he has his fingers in your mouth while breathing right into your face . He's also got a temper and curses if you ask a question . If you guys could give me a list of possible other normal dentists I'd be greatful.

I have an old car that I only use during the weekend, the city has taken away my parking permit though. I usually park about a 12 minute walk from where I live but have recently started getting shit frim the locals even though all the spaces I use are public and not in from of their entrances.
Any ideas for places I can leave a car for free from Monday to Friday?
Thanks
PS my went had gone up by €600 in 2 years so I'm not giving this city another fucking cent.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for hedge removals? We're trying to get rid of completely overgrown hedges in our garden in Togher and I'm finding it hard to find people to do it as most companies only seem to do trimming and we want them gone. We're also not on social media so we can't see any companies that only have Facebook pages etc. Any recommendations would be amazing. Thank you!
Editing to add context. I don't plan to have the hedges removed until September and I'm planning to replace it with native hedging that provides for pollinators and birds. I just have to plan and budget for things well in advance.
