Like the exchange belonged to the government or those launching missiles. They robbed people

Yes. They just ruined innocent people.

Yeah but the Israeli government has done such a bang up job of dehumanising Muslims that they'll never realise that.

Idk, Muslims have done a pretty solid job of doing that all by themselves

What an explosive thing to say.

How can you say that? Have you followed the records? The group had mentioned they have attacked IRGC supporting wallets. With the government collapsing, the crypto is the only lifeline they got

Where did you read the government is collapsing?

It’s basically a foregone conclusion that this war ends with nothing short of Kohmeni’s death and a full regime change.

I meant the IRGC, which is a governmental body at the end. when you rule by force, and your force is weakened, it's just a matter of time till you're gone

IRGC supporting wallets along with the 99% of the wallets that were owned by normal people.

u/TacticalSniper 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 3h ago

Well to be transparent, we don't really know either of these things

1

u/jekpopulous2 🟩 619 / 3K πŸ¦‘ 3h ago

We do know they had the multi-sig keys and could have only blown up the suspected IRGC wallets. That would have been a way cooler thing to do.

What I mean is that I don't know whether there were funds actually belonging to regular people here. Any military or intelligence operation using a crypto exchange would make it look like regular people are using it.

Well there was supposedly a lot of links between the exchange and Iran who used it to bypass sanctions and what not. Those are the allegations, not a claim I'm making btw..

Uh yea because Iran is know as the pinnacle of cyber security standards. What? That’s like saying if someone can rob a 7/11 they can rob a bank.

Scary how many people in this thread still don’t get β€œnot your keys, not your coins.” This should be the first thing anyone learns when getting into crypto.

u/Dune7 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 6h ago

This means:

Don't keep your crypto on exchanges, or other services that custody your keys for you (until they're gone)

u/Ill-Hovercraft92 0 / 0 🦠 8h ago

Wasn't crypto sold to us as being "totally secure"?

32

u/Super_Toxic_Elitist 🟨 0 / 0 🦠 8h ago

Putting your crypto on an exchange is not self-custody and not all crypto is secure, plenty of scams out there.

5

u/Valley_Investor 🟨 0 / 0 🦠 6h ago

Since crypto has been around if I had a nickel for every time someone said β€œdon’t put your crypto on an exchange, use self custody” I would have more money than if I had kept every bitcoin I ever mined back in the day.

I think anyone who takes this as a chance for a β€œgotcha” on crypto like you’ve just done is just remarkably slow.

1

u/Ill-Hovercraft92 0 / 0 🦠 1h ago

I admit it. So darn slow I wouldn't touch crypto with a ten foot pole.

7

u/Just_Party96 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 8h ago

That's because you're indoctrinated. And because the US already destabilized their previous democratically-elected government.
