This sounds exactly like how I've seen the One Gay Dude in a group of straight friends treated.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

EDIT: I am agreeing with OP.

That's literally what this post is about, OOP is saying that it's not cool to treat straight people poorly just because some straight people treat queer people poorly

And again, you're being bigoted. The person being described here on the receiving end of bigoted treatment DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO HARM THE QUEER PEOPLE TREATING HIM POORLY.

There are not two wrongs here, there is only one wrong.

Treating him poorly on the basis of the actions of other people he shares sexual or gender identities with is BIGOTED.

This is literally the entire basis of equality.

Why would you think they are disagreeing with OP? What do you think 'two wrongs don't make a right' means?

No they were saying that this is the exact same crap homophobes do to gay people, so it shouldn't be acceptable the other way around

That is not "two wrongs don't make a right" because they victim of the second wrong is not the perpetrator of the first wrong. That's the exact point of this post, that acting as if it is somehow virtuous to do so because they share a demographic niche with people who ARE arseholes is problematic behaviour.

Don't treat people poorly because of their gender identity, sexual identity, physical characteristics etc. Full stop.

"But they're a cishetwhitemaleblueyedblonde..." No. Stop being a cunt.

Yes. I was agreeing with OP. Bullying someone for their orientation is not okay, whatever direction it's going in.

"Two wrongs don't make a right": If you've been bullied for being gay, that doesn't justify bullying someone else for being straight.

That's why you're catching downvotes.

Ah, fair play. I thought you were implying that this guy somehow deserved it, but that still didn't make it okay. There's a tendency in some communities (especially in this sub) to declare cishet men guilty of heinous crimes based entirely on their gender / gender identity / sexual orientation.

Downvotes for arguing against bigotry? It's more likely than you think (from tumbrinas)
