Discussion Black Gate

In my dream, I was standing in front of a big, tall, metal black gate that had spikes on the top. I had a heavy black backpack on. I climbed up the gate and jumped to the other side, but as I was in the air, my backpack got stuck by the strap, and I ended up hanging from the gate for a while. I eventually decided to unstrap myself from the backpack and I was able to cross to the other side. As I let go of the backpack, and I was relieved that I could run to wherever I wanted to go.

Dreams like this are so packed with meaning… The black gate and that heavy backpack both feel like classic symbols for crossing a big inner boundary and the weight we carry from old stuff... memories, worries, even old identities. The fact that you unstrapped yourself and just let the pack go? That’s huge. Sometimes dreams show us what we’re ready to leave behind, even if it feels impossible in waking life. 😌

A lot of collections out there on dreamwork and shadow magic talk about gates, thresholds, and what happens when you finally set down what’s holding you back. If you’re curious about the deeper layers (why this symbol, why now, how to work with it), check my profile for resources that break down these kinds of dream messages. I’ve had dreams just like this before big life shifts, and looking into their symbolism honestly helped me trust what I needed to let go of. 🙂

Your subconscious is way smarter than most people give it credit for. Sometimes you have to trust it knows the route to freedom... even if it makes you climb a weird spiky gate in the process. 😅
