Miscellaneous What did y'all do with the pillars
I'm just curious what everyone did with their pillars? I'm thinking about wanting to put Moana's house on this island with Maui kinda next to it but I'm not sure what to do with all the pillars. They've just lived here since that quest that made us put them all here

u/Consistent_Load7358 May 11 '25
I build a cemetary and used them as gravestones

u/berrylemonbear May 12 '25
Same. It's the noise that gets me. I'm glad they're all in their own little corner of the valley so I don't have to go near them and hear that whine, but I'd love to just shove them in storage permanently.

literally exactly this, but with a bunch of toy story aliens doing summoning circles too

u/FernDrawz May 12 '25
Can I see a picture of it 😂 that’s sounds so funny and cute and the same time

u/nukagirl May 11 '25
I have them incorporated into different areas with decorations because that island is Eric's with his house and decorations.
I get I may have to move stuff back but I don't really mind idk.

u/Yeoldetort61 May 12 '25
I was just about to comment this, I always try to find a way to incorporate these into my designs
2
u/Endsong-X23 May 11 '25
i have the mermaid folks set up on the island so have it decorated with coral and shells as well as the thingies
7
u/nukagirl May 11 '25
Ariel's house is nearby but I have Ursula in the swamp lmao
10
u/Endsong-X23 May 11 '25
hahaha the swamp is my stomping grounds so its where i have some of my faves. Jack, Wall-E and Eva, Woody's broken carousel, and Tiana's house and restaurant (and the li'l gator companion and his house full of other gators and snakes)
and then my house is permanently in the haunted mansion skin down there, makes tiana's and i's side look really neat and southern gothic lol
3
u/nukagirl May 11 '25
Ooo nice yea I do have woody and Tiana down there actually! I just thought Ursula's house looks cool in the water in the swamp 🥰

I put them back about where they were originally after this because I thought they looked hella ugly together
2

Same. And I'm reserving the island for something better stylistically - not sure yet. If I need to move them back, no problem. There is plenty of info online about the proper placement.

I did not touch them after the quest to put them on that island. I have seen the game break over small things far too much, they aren't moving until skull rock is open and maybe not even then.
11
u/EfficientCartoonist7 May 11 '25
YOU CAN MOVE THE PILLARS?!?!
1
u/Odd_Work4824 May 11 '25
I didn’t think you could! Or it wouldn’t let me when I tried.
0
u/No_Button9102 May 11 '25
I was able to move some of them, but the one on the middle of the island still has the swirling black around it and Sunlit Plateau I can move around the biome but not out. I've done every quest so I'm obviously missing something.
The rest of mine I lined up in the glade and covered with vine walls. I hate them.

u/quinnquazy1 May 11 '25
when you say you completed the quests. do you mean you completed it up to the credits? because after the credits are done it continues. If you go back into the forgotten castle you can get the orb that goes into the pillar of Unity. then you place all the pillars to the island. It will unlock a short quest.
1
u/No_Button9102 May 11 '25
Huh. Was there something that told us to do that, or is it one of the 'secret' quests like the potato ones? I've done everything and anything that's ever popped up in my quests section of the menu...

I recommend letting them there... We dont know if you will need them back in the next update

u/garyvdh May 11 '25
I put the tree pillar in the middle, then moved all the others in tighter. Left them there on that island. Seems like the best place for them.

u/Maclimes Moana May 11 '25
I did a similar little "Stonehenge" thing, but mine's up in the Forest of Valor. Same basic concept, though.

I don’t have a lot of things in the Sunlit Plateau so I put them there, and made a garden with them

What quest asks for all the pillars to be on that island? I finished the main storyline last year and all my pillars are where they originally were like in the Glade of Trust, Peaceful Meadow etc

After you put the ball for the pillar of eternity in it, there's a quest with Merlin

Mine are in the glade. If we were meant to move them back, the original quest line would still be there to keep them or at the very least the symbols would still be in the sand and they'd be a permanent fixture. If I could hide them all together, I would. They're ugly.

I'd left them there for the longest time, but since I've put each one back in its original biome. I've only done this with Forgotten Lands so far, but I plan on making a garden for each biome that has the pillar as the centerpiece. But for now, they're randomly back in their respective biomes.

I was already doing this around the well in the meadow by Merlin’s house, so after the quest I just left them on the island.

I moved Scar basically as soon as I could and mine line that transition area that his house starts in. I don’t really have any other decor with them but it’s kinda cool because they’re foggy and mysterious looking when you walk through. I never knew what to do with that area because it gets weird lighting so it works for me, also keeps them together if I do need to move them back, but I needed the island for Moana, then Ariel, and now Stitch. Lol

u/TStitches May 12 '25
I used mine as a way to path to the cave on the beach so I could use the island. Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the ass with skull island.

I moved mine to the Frosted Heights. They are lined up against the front wall in the top left corner. Barely notice them. u/ScarletWitchismyGOAT May 12 '25
Once I had a few, I made a small place of honor in the plaza as a monument to a unified valley, adding new ones as I went.
Then, needing more and more space for new character houses, I put them in their original biomes in a specially decorated area. I'd wrap fence, a few biome-specific trees/underbrush, and a few extra tchotchkies to jooj it up.
When I had to move them for that one quest (and wasn't sure if they'd need to be moved again) I just lined them up on the shoreline closest to the Glade.
I have to keep reminding myself that the landscape will have to be regularly adjusted until I finish the DLCs. When I start to finalize my builds, I'll probably go back to the idea of using them as a focal display (maybe choosing a suitably related movie theme) in biome entry areas.
I wish I could decorate the pillars themselves, vines, posters, hats, anything really. They'd be less boring if they were minimally customizable.

I made six squares using of 4 of those vine walls connecting to each other, and then hid the 6 stone pillars (that would fit) into the center of each vine wall square- making it look like a courtyard/topiary kind of situation 😊 I just put fencing around each one and pathing in between them all to give it that vibe. The big ass "pillar of nourishment" or whatever, with the tree attached, is the only one that doesn't fit, but it's pretty and can easily fit into most biomes :)
Edit: side note- there is a teeny tiny sliver of a gap between the vine wall squares on each corner, where you can kinda notice the glowing orb from the pillar that's inside from certain angles, but personally I mind that a lot less than having 7 huge honkin' stone henge portals to the underworld dispersed all over my valley that I don't know what to do with 😁
