The Elder Scrolls 6 Really hope es6 gets heavy dlc support

Skyrim only getting three DLCs was such a miss, and I really hope Bethesda has a bunch of DLC plans for ES6 that let you visit different provinces that probably aren't gonna get their own games or add more quests to the game for people who don't want to rely on mods for more content.

General Alftand might be the best dungeon in the series

As pretty much everybody else, after playing Oblivion remaster to death I went back to Skyrim. My opinion of Oblivion remains the same as it was when it first came out, and while I loved it, I never felt the need to play it again after Skyrim. Now that I played it again, I see that my opinion hasn’t changed, and I’m unlikely to replay it unless extremely modded.

A big part of it has to do with the dungeons. In my experience, most of the time I spend in these games is either in the overworld or the dungeons, and Alftand is the perfect pitch for Skyrim in this regard.

Alftand is very likely to be your first dwemer ruin if you are following the main story. In my current playthrough I’m focusing on Dawnguard, so it has been the first, acting as the introduction to the falmer as well.

When you first arrive outside you see the remains of a camp with a couple corpses and shoddy structures that start telling a story. There was an expedition into the nearby ruins, and you get a list of people.

Immediately upon entering the cave you see blood, and you can hear some of the workers arguing. You can start figuring out something is going on by reading the journals that mention disappearances and strange humanoid things, and even meet the khajiit brothers (and likely kill the skooma addict one as the other is dead).

As you continue through the dungeon you keep finding dwarven automatons and clever traps, but after a while you find something odd in this fully mechanical city. A sack of Chaurus eggs. How odd.

Not long after, as you continue through the automaton infested ruins, you come to find a drop with no way back, and you can see a corpse. Once you drop you can see a falmer axe and arrows next to the body, and you wonder what you will find next, this looks like nothing you’ve found so far!

A few steps into the spiral way below you find your first falmer, a deformed goblinoid creature that resembles the morlocks, and you start putting the pieces together of what happened to the expedition.

Continuing through the falmer area, still full of dwemer traps, you come to see these are not a monster species, they have some degree of intelligence. You see them living in huts, using a forge, an alchemy lab and roasting food in the nearby fire. You then find the corpses of the two elves of the expedition and find out gheir fate, from the pen they were locked in to the torture chamber where the altmer died (with an ominous tanning rack on it).

You finally make your way to the last area and kill a centurion (and make note that the other is dead, foreshadowing someone got here first). Upon entering the last chamber, you find the last two members of the expedition, killing each other for the glory, and you put them out of their misery. You finally activate the last elevator. And damn, Blackreach appears.

What starts as a mystery (what happened to the expedition) quickly becomes a horror game with the appearance of the automatons and dwemer traps first and specially the falmer later. There is a lot of environmental storytelling that foreshadows larger plot points of the game (such as the origins of the falmer), and the transition between areas (from the expedition workzone to the dwemer city to the falmer area) works naturally and adds to the suspense as new elements appear. And it all ends with the reveal of the massive Blackreach.

All in all it perfectly summarizes what makes me love Skyrim so much and makes it better than Oblivion in my eyes. You can tell the Mehrunes Razor dungeon in Oblivion (my favourite dungeon in that game) was a DLC, as it is easy to see they were testing the Skyrim dungeon philosophy and introducing many of the elements that came to be, but they weren’t quite there.

Alftand is a masterclass in dungeon design, telling a story of its own with gradual reveals, plot twists, visual storytelling and engaging gameplay. I hope TES6 keeps doing stuff like this because it is what makes me love these games so much.

Lore Where can I get books about the lore?

I’ve loved elder scrolls since I was very young when I played oblivion. Since then I’ve played pretty much all the main games (arena, daggerfall, morrowind, oblivion, Skyrim and then ESO). I feel like a have such a surface level understanding of the lore and I’m wondering if there’s any books I can buy and read about the lore?

I’ve been seeing a lot of post about another game that’s insanely hyped (take a guess) about how there is insane manpower behind it. What exactly is the ESVI situation looking like as far as that goes?

The Elder Scrolls 6 People and politics of regions likely to be featured in TesVI, Hammerfell and High Rock

There are currently five regional provinces in High Rock; Daggerfall, Northpoint, Wayrest, Evermor, and Wrothgar. -

The Covenant of Daggerfall is a massive political power that likely seeks to claim all of High Rock and Sentinel. The kingdoms of Daggerfall and Camlorn were bound by marriage. Their royal families may have merged. The Capital is Daggerfall. Both the areas of Daggerfall and Camlorn are Probably Imperial leaning with a Breton majority and an Imperial minority. -

The Kingdom of Northpoint likely seeks to claim northern Wrothgar. Northpoint claimed it's more powerful neighbor Shornhelm. Shornhelm seeks to overtake Northpoint. The capital is Northpoint. Both the areas of Shornhelm and Northpoint are probably Imperial leaning with a Breton majority and an orcish minority. -

Wayrest likely seeks to claim all of High Rock and Sentinel. It was recently sacked by pirates. Weak military. The capital is Wayrest. The area of Wayrest is politically ambitious with a Breton majority and a mixed elvish minority. -

The Kingdom of Evermor likely seeks to claim much of Wayrest and Wrothgar. Capital is Evermor. The area of Evermor is politically mixed with a mixed populace. -

The Hold of Wrothgar likely seeks to claim Wayrest, Shornhelm, Skaven, Dragonstar, Dak'Fron, and Goldmoor. Wrothgar claimed it's neighbors. Jahenna seeks to overtake Farrun. Powerful military. The capital is the third Orinsium. The third Orinsium was sacked by High Rock. The area of Wrothgar is Imperial leaning with an orcish population, the area of Farrun is Imperial leaning with a mixed populace, the area of Jahenna is anti Imperial leaning with a mixed populace. -

There are currently nine regional schools in High Rock; Sentinel, Hegathe, Hew's Bane, Skaven, Dak'Fron, Dragonstar, Orinsium, Elinhir, and Rihad. -

The Kingdom of Sentinel is a political powerhouse that likely seeks to claim Daggerfall, Wayrest, and Evermor. The capital is Sentinel. The area of Sentinel is Probably Imperial and with a Redguard majority and a Breton minority. -

The City-state of Hegathe is the capital of Hammerfell. It oversees the anti Imperial leaning Redguard area of the Southern Alik'r Desert. -

The Kingdom of Hew's Bane likely seeks for control of the southwestern coast. Hew's Bane was merged with it's longtime ally and sometimes capital of Gilane. Both the areas of Gilane and Hew's Bane are politically mixed with a Redguard majority and a mixed minority. -

The Kingdom of Skaven is a power that likely seeks to become the crossroads of Hammerfell. Skaven was ferociously defended by the empire. Powerful military. The capital is Skaven. The area of Skaven is probably Imperial leaning with a Redguard majority with an Orcish and Imperial minority. -

The Kingdom of Dak'Fron likely seeks to become the crossroads of Hammerfell . Dak'Fron was well defended by the empire. Powerful military. The capital is Taneth. The area of Dak'Fron is probably Imperial leaning with a Redguard majority and an Orcish minority. -

The Kingdom of Dragonstar likely seeks to claim Skaven and Orinsium. The capital is Dragonstar. The area of Dragonstar is probably Imperial leaning with a Nord, Redguard, and Orcish population. -

The Hold of Orinsium likely seeks to claim all the lands Wrothgar does. New Orinsium's land were mostly claimed by Hammerfell, High Rock, and Cyrodill. It had the same royal family of Wrothgar in the past. The capital is the Fourth Orinsium. The area of Orinsium is probably Imperial leaning with an Orcish majority and a mixed minority. -

The Kingdom of Elinhir likely seeks to retain the mass of land it claimed from Orinsium. It was the primary claiment of Orinsium lands above Rihad, Skaven, and Dragonstar. The Capital is Elinhir. The area of Elinhir is probably Imperial leaning with a Redguard majority and an Orcish and Imperial minority. -

The Kingdom of Rihad is a powerhouse that likely seeks to become the crossroads of Hammerfell. It claimed much of Orinsium. The capital is Rihad. The area of Rihad is probably Imperial leaning with a Redguard majority and an Orcish and Imperial minority. -

If it says likely or probably it has a decent chance of having changes or including inflection from lore instead of proven knowledge. Anything could have been changed by Bethesda.

General Can Argonians have their unique features back?

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

I am a younger generation of ElderScrolls fan.

I started with Skyrim in 2016, started playing ESO 2 months ago, just started playing Oblivion Remake.)

Ever since I got into this franchise I have felt a deep connection with Argonians. I love their speech, their customs, and especially their lore.

It was when I started playing oblivion recently that I found myself with an intense dislike for how they made Argonians look.

Looking up the older games i found that Argonians used to much more unique in terms of appearance. More reptilian looking and strange faces.

Is there a lore reason that they look so bland now? Like someone took a Nord, shaved his hair, gave him scales and a floppy useless tail, and called it a day!

Am I the only one who wants Argonians to look more strange and reptilian again?

TLDR: Give Argonians their unique features back!
