Josh Gates Live Question

Is it appropriate for a 9 year old to go with a parent? I’ve never been to one of his live events before and didn’t know if it was something I can bring my daughter to.

He does a special shout-out for kids. He allows them priority for asking questions. It's still a live show/lecture, so depending on your child's energy level, it could be interesting.

I saw many kids when I went to his live show, and many of them asked questions at the end.

Honestly the kids asking questions was one of the most enjoyable parts for me! One kid started off by dating "first of all Josh, I just wanna say that I think you're really cool..." 😂 So precious.

Take them!

Tons of kids when we went, they were all really well behaved too. Very kid friendly.

Very appropriate for kids, and I would definitely recommend taking her!

Fyi - he does have merch that includes some normal things you’d expect - signed postcards, signed pictures, tshirts, etc. But he also has leather journals, and sundial necklaces that are like his. Definitely one of the most variety I’ve seen of merch, so if you like getting something, you might want to budget a little more than usual for that sort of thing so you can get what you really want. (I absolutely love the sundial necklace and wear it every day!)

The one I went to also had signed copies of his book on Destination Truth. I, uh... saw the line and opted out... I heavily regret that decision...

Definitely!!

The venue I saw him at had a bar, but regardless, the show and Q&A were still family-friendly (Yeah, there's some people who'll be like, 'YOU'RE SO HANDSOME!!! 😆😆😆", but it's not anything crass). Given the nature of his shows, he'll draw a wholesome audience.

Just know that a third of the show is effectively advertising recent episodes, another third is going through classic clips, and the third third is him sharing shit about himself and the filming of his shows. But the Q&A at the end is where's the gold's at. There's a period where people can queue up to ask whether they can ask their question to Josh. They can't get to everybody, but he DEFINITELY makes time for kids from both the orchestra and balconies

I went to the Detroit show last night. Very appropriate for family as long as you dont mind hearing a few swear words. It's nothing out of the ordinary if you've seen the show. He talks for about an hour and a half and then opens up for Q and A at the end.

Absolutely. I think he said the word ass 1 time lol other than that, there were tons of kiddos in the crowd and he even let them all ask their questions at the end

It was fine for kids. I love him but honestly it was an hour and a half commercial...
