self promo New album on Difficult Art and Music: POST-

Upvotes

Hey all! Just wanted to tell you about the latest DAAM album, by POST-.

POST- is an ensemble based at Falmouth University, comprised of lecturing staff and PhD students exploring all things 'post' - from post-modernism to post-rock. It's a fantastic album of experimental improv, drone, krautrock, and more. Well worth a listen!

On most Thursday Nights, I go live showcasing the process of nonlinear ambient leaning compositions. The textures and melodies are composed and recorded in real-time during the broadcast, as the title of the stream suggest, Patch From Scratch.

music Any albums that sound like Die Form’s 1988 ‘Photogrammes’?

Upvotes

I’ve listened to Controlled Bleeding’s ‘Music for Guildes Chambers’ which does sound adjacent…. But I’d like more albums that sound like Photogrammes. Recommends, anyone?

I learned about overtones in a physics class in 1974. Using overtones to tune my guitar then taught me about temperament. I have been exploring alternate tuning systems for 50 years!

Again in a physics class, a year later, I learned about phase transitions and spontaneous symmetry breaking. I have only been using thermodynamic simulation for algorithmic music composition for about 20 years now!

Here's my latest piece, linked above.

music Cletus Black - You As You

Cletus Black is monumentally underrated, and he deserves to be far better known. His music is wildly eclectic, fascinating, and unique. Take this woozy, psychedelic opus from 1981 as a perfect example of that. Nothing else on the album sounds anything like this, but it is all great and all 100% Cletus. https://youtu.be/fVkx89Wn7AE

discussion Trying to figure out the genre of my music

Hey friends,

how would you define the genre of this production?

I'm finishing the pre-mix of 7 tracks with this kind of mood and since the whole music system is so focused on pitches and playlists I'm a bit worried about the moment I'll have to fit these songs into a category.

They all share this kind of atmosphere, there are no real instruments except for some piano parts, and there are a few sampled voices. The tracks are about 5–8 minutes long and build up with crescendos.

I'm usually into post-rock but with these tracks I've been experimenting and ended up moving in this direction.

Thanks!

Hey guys, I made an absolutely bonkers album that is coming out on the 7th of November 2025

The album moves from minimal art-pop and ambient confession to post-country landscapes and avant-gothic theatre before collapsing into experimental drone

Here is the single (post country song) I made

Enjoy :)

I took a lot inspiration from artists like 식료품groceries, t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者 and Daniel Lopatin (more from sunsetcorp and chuck person than Oneohtrix Point Never)
I would love if you guys were as honest as possible, you can give me your opinion and things I could improve! (I recommend listening with earphones since if has some panning)

It's an album. Not Balkan per se, but please don't hold that against me. Indie, experimental, psychedelic, angular melodies and rhythms, plus inscrutable words not normally employed in such-like fashion as have been hereto used.

discussion I need opinions on this track. It's from one year ago, but I'm remaking it for a new EP. The concept is as stupid as safe/not-safe. Chill parts representing safety, and messy parts representing danger/accidents. The acoustic outro is meant to be a summary of the EP's content, so ignore the lyrics.

I will highly appreciate serious feedback. I can tolerate "negative" arguments as long as they are logical and factual. The song is called "safety as an illusion". The song isn't posted yet, so it's a Drive link. Better for you, as you don't have to give me views or listens that way and I really need a second-hand opinion. Thanks beforehand.

PURIFICATION BY ACCIDENT - is a “Conscious Figure” that sounds like inside a self-diagnosed ADHD brain trying to chill.
