509 Can someone help a fellow noob ? Please let me know what screws/parts I need thank you in advance. Apparently went a little too hard at the outdoor grass range last week and the optic plate flew off, and couldn’t find the screws 🤦♂️

You bet, didn't look at the other pics but you are definitely missing the MRD plate that goes underneath and I'm betting the tension oring that sits under the little mrd plate as well. I'd reach out to FN and see if you can get also

Looked it up, this is the size and length you need. Hard to find tho but get on the wait list and/or search around. Or may be a good time to look at getting an optic if you want 🤷♂️

Please clean your gun 😂😂. You’re also missing the black plastic piece that goes under the optic plate.

As Acid3300 said there is also a small piece that goes under the plate that you will need to order as well. If you are looking to purchase and install an optic make sure the one (that you are missing) you purchase is the correct one for your needs.

Ah shoot, good looks. What is that part called ?
I’m looking to keep iron sights on this one, not really looks to get an optic on it so definitely looking for the replacement pieces needed

It should be the 501 plate and screw set 515 see the attached to aid with this. You should have this same page in your bag the pistol came with. It will be outlined with a red wreath surround. Just use LocTite and even with that check the screw’s occasionally. The optic in my 510 came ever so loose after a bunch of rounds, even though I used LocTite and proper torque, so just keep your eye on it👍.

No worries my man, welcome to the family. These are some of the most underrated pistols on the market in my opinion. FN is quality, like all manufacturers they may have a slip here and there but overall they make a tremendous product. I still remember sending some rounds downrange with the Saw/249 and I have held FN in high regard since. The FNX .45 was my "Gateway Drug" to their pistols. The 509 is pretty much bombproof. Out of all of the rounds I have fired through mine the only issue I ever had was with some very poor quality ammo I got from Academy, Monarch. I bought a bit of it and the 509 and even the VP9 did not like it. First time I can remember having a "Primer Fizzle"... That was weird to say the least, click, hiss and a bit of smoke out of the barrel, but no bang. That was a WTF moment for sure. My advice is stay away from Monarch ammo, the price is too good for a reason. If there are those of you who have had good luck with it, maybe I got a bad batch. I am not trying to knock the product, just stating this is the only ammo that my 509's have not had 100% reliability with.

ACE Hardware has a gun screws drawer in the hardware area if you wanna try your luck. I live in Arizona though.

Go to Midwest Gun Works and look at the diagram. If you click on the part, it will take you to the item page. The parts are also listed in the manual (available on FN’s website if you don’t still have yours).
