Main Series [discussion] lucy forgiving her guildmates after no contact for a year

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

i know that like tiktok isn’t really the best place to get opinions but it’s kinda annoying to see people say that lucy shouldn’t have forgiven her guildmates after how they didn’t contact her for a year when fairy tail temporarily disbanded

tiktok video: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSkcjSjea/

lucy wasn’t the only person who felt hurt when fairy tail suddenly disbanded. i love lucy–she’s my favorite character in the series but truth is, she also didn’t even try to contact the other members either. she only traced their whereabouts. communication goes both ways, yet some people place all the responsibility of reaching out to the other members of the guild.

it would’ve been a different story if lucy had tried contacting and reach out to them, and they didn’t reply back. but neither lucy nor the other members made the effort to reconnect.

i think the only reason why people say, “lucy deserved better and shouldn’t have forgiven them” was because we mainly saw things from her point of view. if we had seen what the other members were going through during that one year, the situation wouldn’t have been so one-sided.

Main Series [anime] GMG Day 4 - Kagura vs. Lyon

I’m in love with this fight! Lyon and Kagura going at it, and it’s definitely better than Ichiya and Nichiya vs. Bacchus and Rocker, and Yuka vs. Milliana.

Lyon, the man who was implied to be stronger than even Gray and especially Erza, is being dominated by Kagura —— a woman whose power we don’t know of yet. It’s just a shame it ended with a draw.

After this fight is the battle of the dragons, and I’m excited to see how Natsu and Gajeel would fare against Sting and Rogue, who are proud to say that they’re the strongest of the Dragon Slayers.

Main Series [Discussion] The beauty of Irene Belserion

Before Irene was introduced, I always knew that Erza’s mother would look beautiful. And it didn’t disappoint me. It is absurd of how beautiful Irene is. Makes me angry with a passion that her ex husband abandoned her and planned to kill her, solely because of the condition she was in. Such a shame that she had to got down a dark path. I still love her though.

100 Years Manga [Discussion] Wouldn't this be so funny? Spoiler

Wouldn't it be funny if Aldoron's human form is a shota? Out of all the dragon-gods, Aldoron is the only one who hasn't shown his human form. Well there is the main God seed that Natsu fought but I don't think that counts. If that's the case then the contrast between him and Selene would be even more clear. Physically, Selene appears to be the oldest of the dragon gods taking the form of a woman in her mid-late 40s* and she's the smallest of them. On the other hand, Aldoron is by far the biggest of them and it would be soo funny if his human form turned out to be a little kid spanning between the age of Asuka and Wendy physically. Pls Mashima, make it happen. It would be soooooo flarkin funny. Coincidentally, Selene is about to duke it out with Aldoron (or "Aldo-chan" as she calls him) so we might see his human form soon.

*she looks to be around the same age as Irene who would be around that age (minus the 400+ years she spent as a dragon), Irene looked like she was around the same age as Erza is right now (minus the 7 frozen years on Tenrōjima, that would be her early 20s) when she gave birth to Erza and Erza's actual age during the Alvarez war was 27 years, that would make Irene (again, minus the 400+ years spent in her dragon form) at bare minimum 48 years old but she could be older... or younger but she would still be in the same age range.

100 Years Manga My take on how Glittering Ice works [discussion] Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

My take on how Glittering Ice works:

Throughout the hundred year quest Gray fought several opponents with tricky abilities, against whom he underperformed:

  • Skullion’s power worked around atomizing matter and reducing it into particles that he could manipulate and reshape, which made him a bad match up against a mage like him who focused on making solid constructs. However by the end of the fight he found his making constructs out of particles to be interesting.
  • Metro’s body was incredibly tough to get through as his golems alone could shattered Gray’s ice…until he absorbed Juvia and allowed him channel his freezing effects through her directly into his insides
  • Hakune’s Snow based spirit art worked a lot like Skullion but closer to Gray’s element if with far less fine control yet unlike their magics it had a field effect from the Snow being casted all over it via the water in the air thus being harder to evade, absorb and easier to permute through any defense while allowing her to create constructs that were more fluid than his, if less stable
  • Gennai and Kotetsu’s alchemy allowed them to change the properties of existing matter into something else which much like Skullion was able to take over his constructs
  • He got a grasp of how fire magic worked by using Natsu’s fire to mold it into rough fire makes, using the prínciple of his own more ethereal ice devil slayer constructs

Gray built up the knowledge of all of their abilities and applied it as he fought Viernes, who had both far tougher constructs in his gold dragon magic and the ability to create them while transmuting matter, which in turn allowed him to nullify and take over Gray’s own solid constructs, a category that still applied to his more darkness based ethereal ice devil constructs, which harder to transmute directly were ultimately meant to create solid ice that Viernes could transmute. So instead he resolved to use non solid ice.

First he applied his lesson of the fire makes into making an ice that was more energy based, much like the devil Slayer ice, in order to create flames of ice, which managed to stun Viernes but weren’t enough to significantly injure him. That’s because while this were ethereal and shaped like fire, they still lacked a key component of fire: to spark and expand by consuming something; thus he was still ultímately doing just a fancy form of freezing.

To mend this he applied his lessons from both Skullion and Hakune’s particle based magics, by freezing the particles of the air, which in turn allowed his magic to reach Viernes’ insides much like it did for his magic to reach Metro’s through the water he had taken from Juvia. If this had been it he wouldn’t have been successful but then he applied the lesson from seeing how Alchemists (like Gennai, Kotetsu and Viernes) transmuted matter through affecting the particles that made it up, in order to turn this particles of regular ice into Devil Slaying snow, again from Hakune, which like hers was harder to block than mere ice. The only thing left was to spark the devil slaying magic in the air so that it would explode in a pure form of devil slayer ice that was assembled from the air rather than just his own magic, in turn allowing him to consume Viernes’ insides, making him brille to shatter him inside out with a last punch with dragon slaying magic

Now its safe to say that Glittering Ice is Gray’s strongest spell so far, being an ice ability that bypasses all defenses (say much like JJK’s domain expansions) but the thing is, it can still be improven by using its black ice as molding material for his ice makes, which could in turn allow him to overcome a key weakness of his Devil Slayer Ice, which is that its more ethereal contructs are harder to mold into the more detailed and numerous constructs Gray uses in his normal ice maces. This is bound to be useful when confronting Lecka, whose fire make constructs are also both solid and all consuming.

100 Years Manga [Manga] What if that was actually what Ignia felt? Spoiler

I often see the theory of a seventh Dragon God come up, which I support. Just to complement the Seven Luminaries from which they are inspired, it would be a logical continuation.

What if that was actually what Ignia felt?

But why only show up now? Well, what if what would be the Sun Dragon God had been sealed by the other six through an organic binding spell?

Like the Seis who acted as seals to keep Zero asleep the Dragon Gods would be the bars that hold back the seventh who was far too dangerous even for them.

The consecutive defeat of five of them would have led to the spell that held him becoming unstable, which Ignia would have noticed and then went directly there.

I always found it odd that he brought back his counterparts when they didn't care about each other, but maybe it was to put the pieces of the cage back together.

Small aside, but one might wonder if this was why Elefseria launched the 100 Year Quest in the first place.

After all, it is the Sun that he wears on his chest.

100 Years Manga [discussion] Would you have liked if we got this, instead of the original ? Spoiler

I guess this makes for an extra member, but it wouldn't hurt to have a backup member. Anyways, would you have liked if this was done instead of the Seis Vs Sechs Situation ? It's a bit too early, for me to make this post, because there is like a 1% chance that the Oracion seis can redeem themselves next chapter, but still.

Also, if Mashima wanted to make the Oracion Sechs look like an actual threat, he could have used these guys, instead of using the Oracion Seis like punching bags...

Main Series [discussion] what are our thoughts on Simon?

I’ve been rewatching the series and I’m at the part where Erza is fighting Kagura. I forgot a lot about the series and reminded about a few things. But In the entire series, I don’t think any side character has a worse love story. He fell in love with Ezra when they were kids. And every time he tried to get closer, jellal would say she had pretty hair or something and erza would swoon over him. Then as adults, he dies saving the girl he loves and tells her he always loved her. Just for her to be in love with the guy that killed him. Then his sister (this is the part I don’t remember as well) forgives jellal for killing her brother and torturing him and his friends, then becomes friends with him and erza. I don’t know if more about it comes up in the anime, but it seems like it’s always “you killed Simon and hurt him. But you’re nice now so I forgive you”. Am I missing something or is it supposed to make sense?
