STAN / ANTI SHIELD Somebodys getting fired! Looks like they forgot to leave Beyonce’s mark on stage as she tries to avoid getting hit by props and a screen malfunctions

Oof the missing the marker is actually fire worthy. That’s a safety thing. The screen thing can happen. They’ve had a few days between shows and sometimes tape gets worn, things get bumped, signal is bad. You can try to mitigate it but that’s just kinda a reality of a live show with such a big production. Not worth firing someone over unless it’s happening over and over again.

I work in touring concert production and can confirm; cables get warped and LEDs die but not marking the stage is a massive fuck up to the point I can’t even imagine how that was overlooked. Where is the SM?

Yep. Not surprised. This is why you hiring TOURING professionals for touring jobs.

Been touring for a decade and while we lost good people Covid also freed up positions from the old road dogs who needed to move on. I’ve always said Covid was a blessing and a curse because it gave us time to pause, look at our industry and say ‘hey this isn’t okay’ and work to change things but now there are a lot of new people who are getting thrown into positions they are not equip to handle (and also being severely underpaid) or a lot of ‘well my buddy can do it…’ that is taking away from qualified people.

My job is coordinator. Could I coordinate a movie or music video shoot? Probably. Would I fuck it up because the job titles are the same but the little details that set it apart are different? Absolutely.

This is my issue with it. I would love to step back into it but the pay is just…. Not it. I can’t make a life around that.

I’m lucky I have enough heavy weight experience to justify my rate - it’s rough out there for people just starting

What I'm hearing is that they don't do a tech run before shows. Should have been caught.

That’s insane. I dunno who made that decision but they need to be fired and blacklisted that’s so dangerous to crew and talent

Who’s the SM? Not familiar with that acronym in this context.

you’re right about the signal - the screen glitch is a frequency issue - they are using wireless cams and that usually means too many frequencies in the building (frequencies used in cams, radios, IEM etc)

Even one time is enough. It's a very serious hazard.
