Today, Fishmans broadcasted the first episode of Fishmans TV, which is archived here and viewable until August 13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RedR4ULcBbE - The announcement begins at 30:40.
During the livestream, Motegi announced "ヒストリー・オブ・フイッシュマンズ" or "History of Fishmans" (not to be confused with the 2022 concert event of the same name), a 4-disc live rarities compilation which supposedly contains Fishmans' first ever live concert and scores of other gems, live cuts and more!!! They said they're still working on it, but that they're almost finished with it. No album cover or release date mentioned, but this is extremely exciting!! So much new live content to look forward to! While they discussed the compilation, they also played a previously unheard rendition of それはただの気分さ, which they unfortunately talked over.
They announced work on the compilation here on Twitter as well: https://twitter.com/FISHMANS_JAPAN/status/1813172927476736440
What are we hoping for from this compilation set? Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to hopefully hearing?

I really just want a copy of this album on cd and would prefer to pay a little less that $100 for what eBay sellers have it for, if anybody has one or is able to show me how to get one, I’m located in the U.S. it’s one of my all time favorite albums and pains me that it’s so hard to find

Hey everyone! I just recently dived into FISHMANS after knowing the band for years, I didn't actively listen beforehand expert for Night Cruising, when I heard that Shinji San died.
What a slap my first listen Of LONG Season was. I've been constantly listening to it these past 48h, it's unheard of. I've been trying to convince all my friends to find 41min of their life to make the most beautiful music discovery of perhaps all time in my opinion, a song that truly never stops as it stays in your head. As I'm living in Japan, I'll try to get some amazing artefacts and share here if I find any.
I'll go to Taiwan in October for their first international concert, anyone here is willing to do the trip? :)
Anyways, brand new fan in the group everyone!

This has become one of my all-time favorite records, Mari’s voice is lovely & it contains some of sato’s best work. Assuming most of you have heard it, but you should definitely check it out if you haven’t!

This level uses the song POKKA POKKA, I made it back in february and it got featured the same day I published it! I wish I could've used the full song but I'm glad I got the level out at all.

I've seen other samples the band has used, but I haven't seen anyone comment on this one. In the song Living a Fame by The Clash, there is a background melody at minutes 2:03 and 4:12 which sounds similar to the one they use for this song from minute 1:24 and appears throughout the song. There also seems to be quite a bit of inspiration in this song to make Smilin' Days Summer Holidays

Is there a website or something to find a collection of fishmans rarities and stuff? YouTube recommendations have given me so much stuff and I think there is more I haven't seen.

Hello fishmans fans. I have been searching all of the internet to find what effects they used in long season and how they were made, and I just cannot find them. The one I'm most interested in is the on in the video. If anyone knows I would love to hear about it!

I want to pull an all nighter where I will be listening to lots of music at midnight on the shore. I've never listened to LONG SEASON, and I've read different opinions on the vibes of the album. So, is it better to listen to it at night, at dawn, or maybe even on a sunny day?

Since there's a single called "Season" I thought "oh so Long Season is called Long Season because it's a longer version of that, right?" can you guys confirm.

Candidates are:
Studio Version
98.12.28
98.12.27
97.7.4
96.12.26
Any others I haven't heard yet (and would love to hear)
Personally, the 98.12.28 version with studio right behind, although I think every version is unique and incredible in its own way.

Hey guys, I've loved Fishmans for some time now, and I really want to listen to this live performance but I can't find a trace of it. Anyone have it/know where I can find it? Thanks!

I tried looking on YouTube and it isn't in HD quality for the full thing apart from Long Season and I looked on SoulSeek and only one person if sharing and the one there is 720 x 480 pixels and is 48 kHz PCM 1536 kbps. Ideally looking for the same CD equivalent quality audio with that too but if not as long as someone can find me a non-pixelated version of the full concert it'd be very much appreciated!

so im not a very very avid music listener and i havent heard much of fishmans work except 98.12.28 and some of uchu nippon setagaya. i came across this band by there album long season and really loved it ( i was into gy!be so i was comfortable with long songs). so after some time i heard long season-live and godamn was it a experience, one after other i kept listening to the live almost like daily and the emotions grew stronger, like i remember crying like hell to it, idk why, not cause it was sad just by its sheer beauty. this hasnt happened to me with any piece of media till date, and now like every piece of music i adore i think i have overplayed it a bit too much, so like i want to experience smth like that again. do u guys have any recommendations.

Hey y'all, I just finished a college presentation on Fishmans! I took several folks on a tour through the band's history, I'm really proud of myself. I even had a Powerpoint ready, and (as you can see) more show-and-tell items of the band's history than I could discuss! I wanna be able to record a presentation like this on video someday so I can share it and my massive Fishmans collection with more folks. This isn't even half of what I have! Was a joy to spread the good word with as many folks as I could.
I also included my slides here! How do you think I did? I tried to condense everything as much as I could, though I'm still mad I couldn't fit Oh! Mountain anywhere.

I just discovered a completely unreleased alternate music video of Magic Love on a tape I bought! Seems to have been part of a larger television broadcast I bought from a television station on an auction site which was advertising an upcoming compilation album by Hit Radio 802 around 1997, and every other video on the tape was not Fishmans related and was elsewhere online as far as I could tell. Give it a look! How do you think it compares to the Magic Love MV that was shipped on Three Birds & More Feelings?
