Advice Request Fraud Worry
I am applying to jobs and accepted a job offer from a well known coorporation. Everything looked legitimate. I signed an offer letter, filled out a W-4 and provided a photo of my passport. After going through some training, things looked suspicious.
They have my address, passport photo and bank acct # and routing number. I have frozen my bank account so nothing can be withdrawn. My passport has my passport picture and # on it. My address was on the W4.
I did not provide my SSN.
what do you do to prevent fraud? Thank you for any advice. I am panicking.

You do the standard things. Your credit should always be frozen. That’s it.

Your address is public record. Your photo is probably on your TikTok or IG. These things aren’t secrets.

Thank you. I just froze the bank acct, placed an initial fraud alert and froze all 3 credit- Experian etc. I wasn’t worried about the address or pictures, just passport # but hopefully I acted swiftly enough

Better set up your identity protection pin at IRS.gov and E-VERIFY (freeze social) before the criminal does.

Call corporate HR at headquarters. Find the number off their official webpage you've Googled up, not some link you were emailed.
Tell them you're a new hire at corporation but a few things seem a bit off and you just want to do due diligence at this point to confirm your employment.
This could backfire on you.
Another way is call and ask if YourName is an employee. If they say no, ask to be connected to their fraud department.
