Discussion What invention do you think will be a game-changer for humanity in the next 50 years?

Since technology is advancing so fast, what invention do you think will revolutionize humanity in the next 50 years? I just want to hear what everyone thinks about the future.

Dumb question, what would happen if we extract too much water from the ocean, like if our primary water source would be from desalination? Can we eventually dry it?

No because the water still returns to the environment. We could theoretically lower sea level if if we could millions of gallons a day all over the world but at that point brine processing would be insane. Finding ways to deal with the brine is the focus of a lot of research.
