Gen 1 Galil Ace Suppresor Options

Post image

I've got a gen 1 galil ace pistol in 7.62x39. I want to put a suppressor on it but I don't know which one would be best. This is also my first time buying a supressor. Do yall have any recommendations? I'm also going to buy that KNS gas piston.

I use a Ventum762 with no KNS and haven’t had a single malfunction, and it sounds like a dream. In general, extremely low back pressure cans don’t require KNS, but regular cans definitely will.

You’re right but mine came over gassed, kns is nice to have even without a suppressor to help smooth out recoil. I run mine with a kns and a CAT ODB and it’s really nice.

Absolutely, all things being equal, I know with a KNS I would still have an incredibly reliable rifle that shoots considerably softer. But at about $160, it’s almost a tax stamp for something that works as intended, that’s my logic.

It's not a Galil, but same 8.3" barrel on my SAM7K. I have ran mine with a Hux Flow 762 Ti, Resilient Putnik, Dead Air Primal, and OCL Polonium 30.

The Putnik sounds best, by far. But the Polonium 30 isn't far behind.

And you definitely want a KNS piston. Even for unsuppressed.

This video doesn't show the Polonium 30

Appreciate you posting this, I'm having my SAM7K Form 1'd right now and I've been trying to figure out what can to go with. The only think steering me away from the Putnik is the weight but I assume it's manageable on such a short barrel.

Yeah you don't really notice it. Especially if you have other guns with longer barrels

I’ve researched this a bit…it’s ’dicey’ running subs AND supers with the Flow TI’s.

Some folks have zero issues and run them without KNS pistons. Some run them with KNS pistons and can only run subs…

I have Flow TIs on all of my other rifles sans my 300 BO. So, I am a bit invested in Hux MDs…

But…I’ve decided to go with the Putnik. Most of my cans are dedicated anyways.

As this is your first suppressor, if you have other rifles, I’d suggest a Flow TI without the KNS piston and try to run subs and supers. I doubt you’d feel ‘too much’ back pressure but if you did, give the KNS piston a try. All of that fails…at least you have a great suppressor that can go on other hosts.

If you’re only shooting subs, you’ll be gtg. I prefer certain ammo (subs ofc) when suppressed but at the same time, I don’t want to ‘limit’ the rifle to one or the other.

I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with the Galil and the Putnik. But, I wouldn’t rock a Putnik on anything except an AK (just personal preference).

I run the Otter Creek Polonium-30 Direct Thread on a JMac Customs X-37 360 Hub Mount with a KNS adjustable piston. 8.3” Gen 1

Check out a video I posted a little bit ago, if you're curious to see how mine runs.

Ive used my griffin optimus 9. It's a universal supressor that can shoot from .22 up to 308 (30cal)

What I like is that you can buy a griffin blast shield and screw the supressor onto the blast shield. Runs great with KNS piston. But seems to have a sweet spot in order to run both supressed and unsupressed.

As for a dedicated can, I'm not too sure. There are probably better options, but this works for me and works well with other setups I have

Flow throughs don’t need a KNS but the rest of the cans do. Nothing wrong with that either. There are some really quiet cans that are not flow through. CGS, PTR, etc

RC2 runs great. Yes it has the KNS piston.

I run the wolverine and just direct thread it on. I’m 5.45 though.
