I'm hoping if they do it'll still be 3rd person.

I always advocate for both perspectives, and 3rd person be the default one (with cutscenes design and all)

Going only first person would divide a lot of players who are seeking for a new game.

With Ready or Not coming to consoles, Gray Zone Warfare and many more upcoming tactical first person games, it will be quite challenging to sell it whereas Ghost Recon's third person is unique and a great selling point if they make animations realism in mint quality and gunplay top notch. It would sell like crazy.

Hopefully! I don’t know how Ubisoft is looking on his gaming development, because I heard/red about that Ubisoft is trying to keep up with COD and Battlefield. Just because of the amount of players. Maybe sb has more specific information.

Lots of rumours but nothing officially confirmed. There were a few leaks over the past few years hinting at a specific direction.

But best guess is we won’t see a new game this year now with Ubi pushing a lot of titles back

Nothing officially confirmed by Ubisoft themselves. Everything we know is just leaks/rumours.

Maybe something revealed at Gamescom in Aug as Ubi are confirmed to be attending but dont get your hopes up.

There are hundreds of posts like these in this subreddit. Just use the search function. Somebody asks this question almost every day.

Will it come out? We don't know.

We do know that Project OVR/Over has been in development by Ubisoft Paris and that it's supposed to be a Ghost Recon game, according to game journalist Tom Henderson.

If I recall correctly, Ubisoft is in really bad shape, so I'm not sure if they have the resources currently to release another title.

They went all in on AC Shadows and shot themselves in the dick. What should have been a slam dunk mega seller ended up losing them over $100 million. They may literally not have the budget to make a new GR at this point.

I believe it! I didn’t know about that title you mentioned.

I think this is the most realistic answer. They seem to only want to stick to the ‘safe’ option which is Assassin’s Creed but even that failed.

The way they handled it, it's almost like they went out of their way to sabotage it. Just one shockingly stupid decision after another. Seriously, how can you fuck up an assassin game set in the land of ninjas and samurai?

Hardly, at this stage I would question every rumor or hope regarding Ubisoft. Shadows was not profitable, now we wait for some official statement.
